Profile Henkel Innovation Challenge
The Henkel Innovation Challenge is an international innovation competition for
students. In September 2012 it kicked off for the sixth time under the motto “Triple
the value you create”. In the last years Henkel gained contact with thousands of
students through this competition.
The competition to win good employees is getting stiffer. For this reason, Henkel
places great value on direct and intensive communication with students. As part of
the Henkel Innovation Challenge, the students’ participants receive on-site mentoring
from Henkel managers during the preparation phases. The students acquire valuable
business experience, ideas and contacts in the course of the competition.
On the lookout for creative ideas for 2050
College students are given the chance to try the role of a creative business
development manager and develop a concept for a Henkel product or technology for
the year 2050. Participation is simple: They are asked to form a team of two and
answer two questions online. The best teams from all participating countries present
their ideas first to a national jury of Henkel managers for evaluation. The national
winners will then be invited to present their ideas to Henkel executives, at the
international final, which will take place from March 18-20 2013 in Shanghai, China.
Top managers will continue to coach the international finalists to turn their ideas into
a business plan in the course of the international challenge.
At this sixth edition of the Henkel Innovation Challenge students from 27 countries
will participate in the game: The participating European countries are Austria,
Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Russia, Slovakia,
Slovenia, and the Netherlands. Countries from the Asian Pacific region include
China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore,
Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. Additional participating countries from
the Latin American and North American regions are Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and
All three winning teams will meet the Henkel CEO Kasper Rorsted and will receive an
additional prize: the winning team will get an around-the-world ticket worth 10,000
euros, the second place will be awarded 4,000 euros and the third place 2,000 euros.
