							                       Five Paragraph Essay Template

Write your ideas and information in point form. Then write your essay based on
the notes in this template.

Introduction (First Paragraph)

1. Begin your introduction with a catchy sentence or two that captures your reader’s
interest.




2. Next, provide information that introduces the subject of your essay.

       

       

       


3. State your thesis and briefly outline the three points of your essay. Your thesis
statement states your response to the question you have been asked, or that you have
asked yourself. It is your opinion, and it tells the reader that this is what your essay will
be about.

           strongly influenced their cultures.

Body (Second to Fourth Paragraphs)

First Point (Second Paragraph)

1. Begin the main body of your essay (second paragraph) with your first point (taken
from your research). Make sure this point relates to your thesis.

that your examples or details do prove your point.

       

3. Relate your examples or details to the thesis.

       




Second Point (Third Paragraph)

1. Begin the third paragraph with your second point (taken from your research). Make
sure this point relates to your thesis.
