Action Project by
Keep the Gorges Gorgeous
Planned a hike/cleanup project in the gorges to make
students on campus at Cornell aware of the natural
areas close at hand.
Wanted to encourage spending time outdoors and
taking advantage of natural scenes
Wanted to explore recreation activities such as rock
and tree climbing.
Also wanted to integrate educational component
about local ecosystem and geography.

Lead to contact within the Interfraternity Council
Lead to 6 Vice Pres. Of IFC
Each had a separate site for clean-up
Only two emailed back and that was just to confirm

Emailed Climbing Coordinator: Dr. Mark Holton
Got in contact with Todd Miner head of COE
Todd acted as main contact and advised what gorges
were best, as well as suggesting a date, and providing
Helped to plan long term goals for the project in order
to build a framework for repeats in the future.

wants to come, as we celebrate the natural beauty of Ithaca’s Gorges and the arrival of spring.
