Chatham Arch Neighborhood Association Meeting
November 1, 2006, 7 p.m., Firefighters’ Union Hall, 623 E Saint Clair St, Indianapolis, IN
29 individuals were in attendance. Vice-president Vaughan Townsend called the meeting to order
& those in attendance introduced themselves. A motion was made & seconded to approve the
September meeting minutes. Approved unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report, Terry O’Neal: CANA has $23,135.48 in assets. Recent income included $1,563
from home tour ticket sales & an expense of $132.68 for food for the fall clean-up.
Home Tour, Barb Tegarden: With income of $17,450 from sponsorships & ticket sales & expenses
of $2,500, the home tour earned $14,950 for the neighborhood. This event was a huge success! (The
2004 home tour earned about $6,000, & the 2006 budget was for $10,000 in home tour income.)
THANK YOU to all who helped, especially Barb Tegarden! Chatham Arch has hosted different types
of homes tours since 1993, including candlelight & holiday tours, & now the every other year fall tour.
Barb read a list of all homes which have been on tour throughout the years.
Membership, Ann Moore: No report. Join CANA for $25 per individual or $50 per business. Paid
members may vote at neighborhood meetings.
Fundraising, Don Elliott: Tote bags with the Chatham Arch Historic District logo may be purchased
for $15 each.
Neighborhood Cleanup, Anne Hardwick: THANK YOU to all who helped to clean streets & trim
tree branches in preparation for the home tour. The cleanup was a success thanks to our great
Web Site Redesign, Anne Hardwick: The redesigned Web site has been live since before the home
tour. Please view the site, & give any suggestions or comments. THANK YOU to those who worked
on this project!
School 14 Clothing Drive, Walter Bartz: Yellow fliers were distributed with the Urban Times’ delivery
with information regarding the clothing drive (also see the Web site). Please bring clothing items to
the November 28 meeting or deliver to 927 Broadway St. by December 8. Checks may be made
payable to Chatham Arch Neighborhood Foundation, & indicate that the donation is for IPS 14.
CANA Board Nominating Committee, Vaughan Townsend: Larry Cleaver, Terry O’Neal, & Kristy
Spears have volunteered to serve as the nominating committee for the 2007 board. A motion was
made, seconded, & approved to accept this nominating committee. Vote: 23-0-0.
City Report: No report.
Good of the Order
Out to Dinner Club will be November 15th at Shelbi Street Cafe at 7 p.m. in Fountain Square.
Please RSVP to Kim Lucas by November 12 if you wish to attend.
Thanks to Kristy Spears for starting the “You’ve been spooked” treats to add some Halloween
spirit to the neighborhood.
The 745 Bar & Grill is planning to reopen soon.
