IN THE SPACE BELOW, DESCRIBE THE ARTIFACT
The first artifact is my classroom environment paper in the form of a "Welcome Letter"
to my students and their parents. It describes how the classroom will be set up and
run, as well as what I as a teacher expect from them, and what they as parents and
students can expect from me. The second artifact is a description of my dream
classroom, if I were to have unlimited space and resources.

IN THE SPACE BELOW, DESCRIBE IN WHAT WAY(S) THIS ARTIFACT RELATES TO THE
COMPETENCY YOU ALIGNED IT WITH AND HOW IT CONTRIBUTED TO YOUR GROWING
COMPETENCE IN THIS AREA
In order to have a classroom that runs effectively, all parties involved must know what
is going on within. A welcome letter that goes home with the students, or that is
mailed out prior to the first day of class, will get students excited for school. When
parents understand what is expected of them as well, they are more likely to be (and
want to be) involved with their child's classroom. What better way to motivate
students than to make sure they know that the classroom they spend every day in is
truly theirs?
Students are also more likely to appreciate a classroom that is spacious and well-
furnished. They will be motivated to learn when they know there are spaces they can
go to besides a table, and when they have all the necessary resources plus some.

IN THE SPACE BELOW, EXPLAIN HOW THIS ARTIFACT HAS CONTRIBUTED TO YOUR
UNDERSTANDING OF THE CIRCLE OF COURAGE AND ITS CORE VALUES OF
BELONGING, MASTERY, INDEPENDENCE, AND/OR GENEROSITY
Belonging

By having a classroom that the students are largely responsible for, it will encourage a
sense of belonging. That way, each child will know that, no matter their home
situation, they have a safe place to come to that they may call their own.
