AREA MAIL PROCESSING (AMP) FEASIBILITY STUDY
Russellville, AR CSMPC to Little Rock, AR P&DC
April 28, 2011
The Postal Service conducted an Area Mail Processing (AMP) study and determined that
efficiency and productivity would be improved by transferring the mail processing operations from
the Russellville, AR Customer Service Mail Processing Center (CSMPC) to the Little Rock, AR
Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC). The proposal, which has a projected annual savings
of $52,144, has been approved. Implementation of this AMP is expected to be completed by
October 2011. There are no changes to the retail or business acceptance unit at the Russellville
facility.
The Postal Service must continually evaluate the opportunity to improve productivity and
increase efficiency while maintaining excellent service. The transfer of mail processing
operations provides significant savings and allows us to accomplish our goal of making
better use of our resources.
