IT Project Manager



The information needs of St Paul’s Cathedral have grown significantly over the last few
years and recently the organisation has embarked upon an information technology
upgrade to support that substantial expansion, which is ongoing. The updating of legacy
systems, both hardware and software, the introduction of new systems and practices
alongside a network expansion programme has set out the need for an IT project
manager.

Reporting to the Head of the Information Technology Department, this role is critical to
the organisation in ensuring that effective solutions and operational changes can be
delivered to meet the dynamic and time critical challenges of the Cathedral.

Main Skills

      Industry standard Project Management qualification and evidence of a minimum of
       3 years successful project management experience
      Solid understanding of Project Management tools & techniques
      The ability to inspire a shared vision
      Excellent communicator both oral and written
      Good leadership skills
      Team building
      Good competence with project management software
      Clear understanding of project management methodologies
      Logical thinking
      Project management experience across IT and the business e.g. in an IT
       applications, or infrastructure environment and have managed the business
       operational changes on these projects.
      Acute understanding and ability to demonstrate expertise in Quality Management,
       Project planning, Risk & Change management
      Proven ability of driving requirements gathering & analysis.
      Strong negotiation skills - maintaining relationships with stakeholders & have the
       ability to influence stakeholders from across the business units.
Main Duties

        Responsibility for all aspects of project planning and implementation through
         industry standard best practice methodology. Delivery of projects under this
         methodology including, planning, resource management, project controls,
         management reporting, risk and financial management.
        Required to plan out the creation of the business requirements, Project Initiation
         Document (including business case, governance model, risk, quality and
         communication strategy, definition of stakeholder engagement), development and
         test phases and all business operational activities.
        Active deputy to the Head of the Information Technology department

Main Terms of Employment
        Subject to satisfactory references
        Subject to a 3 month probationary period
        Salary £37,000 reviewed annually
        35 hours per week.
        25 days’ holiday per year plus statutory bank and public holidays.
