With the upcoming club season about to begin, the Sudbury media has already begun to ask for information about our
club, teams and athletes, specifically player information. A team roster will be circulated, as well as being visible on our
website. In the near future we will update the roster pages on the website with links to each athlete’s player profile
page. The community sports outlets in the area may request pictures when doing player profiles themselves.
Media Release Waiver
I understand that the Northern Chill Volleyball Club (NCVC) has the right to take photographs, videotape or digital recordings of participants at its club related
event to be used in any and all media. I am aware that by giving consent, I am permitting my name to be posted on the NCVC website and publications, which can
be viewed by anyone who accesses the NCVC website or publications. I understand that I may withdraw consent to the collection, use or disclosure of my personal
information at any time, by written request, to the NCVC President, Michael Margarit (mmargarit@northernchill.org)

2012 – 2013 Athlete Code of Conduct
As a member of the Northern Chill Volleyball Club you are expected to conduct yourself in a manner that demonstrates
good sportsmanship and a respect for others at all times. It is essential that you support your fellow teammates, your
coaches and your Club, to the best of your ability.
As an athlete you will be expected to adhere to the following standards of behavior throughout the volleyball season:
Act as a role model and ambassador for the club and for the sport of volleyball;
Give your best effort at all times, at both practices and tournaments;
Do your best to be a true team player;
Play by the rules of the game and the true spirit of the sport;
Play volleyball because you want to, not because others want you to;
Remember that winning isn't everything - that enjoying the sport, improving your skills, making friends and doing
your best are important goals;
Be on time for and attend all practices and games, unless you have a legitimate reason, in which case, your
coach should be called in advance;
Wear appropriate practice clothing and prescribed game uniforms;
Listen intently to those who are speaking with you and teaching you;
Pay attention whenever your coaches pause to instruct your teammates during scrimmages;
Respect others (coaches, teammates, officials, opponents, parents) and the equipment and facilities loaned to
you for your use;
Be an active participant in all NCVC fundraising activities
Encourage your parents to contribute and volunteer at the team and/or club level (e.g. driving to tournaments,
fundraising, and host tournament committees, etc.);
All fees and forms will be submitted on time or the player in question must sit out both practices and matches
until these responsibilities are completed.
Athletes will arrive at practice and tournaments on time, ready to play with the required equipment and uniforms.
If, for some reason, the player can not follow through on their commitment it is their responsibility to contact the
coach ASAP.
Report any injuries and ailments immediately to your coach who will note these on the practice or game sheet.
The athletes will show respect for all facilities used by the club.
Respect your fellow teammates and coaches, and support them to your utmost in your team endeavors
Understand your role on the team, as explained to you by your coaches, and execute that role to the best of your
ability.
Respect all officials, opposing athletes and coaches, and spectators, and use only appropriate language.
Abide by, and accept gracefully, the decisions of officials, no matter which team those decisions may favor.
Demonstrate appreciation for and applaud good play and never make derogatory remarks about officials, coaches
or the athletes of any team.
Respect and care for the facilities in which practices and competitions are being held, and listen to those in
authority.
Be aware of and abide by the regulations of the Ontario Volleyball Association and Volleyball Canada.
Exhibit the same standard of behavior when out in public, as you do on the court.
Realize that when off the court, especially when wearing Club clothing, you are a representative of the Northern
Chill Volleyball Club.
I understand and agree to be held accountable for adhering to the Athlete’s Code of Conduct as described above.

2012 – 2013 Parent Code of Conduct
Dear Parent / Guardian,
The Northern Chill Volleyball Club is continually striving in establishing the best possible elite volleyball experience
available to our athletes. We are asking for your assistance in ensuring that your daughter has the most positive
experience with the club by following these simple, yet vitally important guidelines:
RESPECT
Please be respectful of all of the participants in our club as well as those that we interact with (coaches,
volunteers, athletes, parents, officials, other teams / clubs)
We are guests in many of the facilities we use so please treat them appropriately
FAIR PLAY
Please provide encouragement for all participants and refrain from negative comments from the stands
We are judged by the quality of our character. Please help us to build a strong sense of integrity and self-esteem
in our athletes
ATTENDANCE AT PRACTICES OR COMPETITIONS
If you and your guests attend practices and volleyball tournaments, please do not interfere or provide feedback
on specific skills or strategies to the athletes (Even if they are yours!).
We are always looking for more coaches. If you would like to become a coach please let us know and we will
register you in the next available technical clinic.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Wait 24 hours before taking action. Please use your team Manager as the first point of contact for any issues with
regards to the club.
If you are not satisfied, feel free to discuss the issue with any of the Club Executive. Our goal is to always
improve the organization so your feedback is welcomed.
We appreciate your cooperation in following the guidelines outlined and your assistance in ensuring our athletes have a
positive volleyball experience.
Please complete the attached form and include in your child’s registration package.
