RIBA Education Fund Application 2012/13
 Please tick to confirm that you meet the following eligibility criteria:

   I have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years before the start of my first course in
architecture

   I am enrolled in an RIBA-validated Part 1 or Part 2 course in the UK

   I have read the Guidance Notes to Applicants before completing this form (available on the
website www.architecture.com/educationfund). Please only use the current year’s application form –
applications on older forms will not be accepted.

   Attach a letter from your student loan/grant provider confirming the total sum made available to
you in 2012/13. If you have been refused a student loan or grant, please attach a letter from the
student loans company confirming that this has not been made available to you. If you are ineligible
or did not apply, please explain this in your personal statement.

    If you are receiving any other scholarships, bursaries or loans, please attach the written
confirmation with the names of the providers and amounts provided to you in 2012/13.
Please note that the Trustees expect you to have explored all areas of funding available to you,
including University Hardship Funds, Bursaries and Access to Learning Funds.

  Attach copies of bank statements for all accounts (including credit cards) held for the last full
month.

    EITHER attach a copy of your tenancy agreement, which should state the names of all tenants,
the address of the property, the name and address of the landlord, and the weekly or monthly rent.

OR, where you own your accommodation, a copy of a recent mortgage statement showing your
monthly payments

OR If you live with family members, please provide a letter from them to confirm the amount of rent
and contributions to household costs that you pay weekly or monthly.

   Attach a photocopy of your ID confirming your date of birth (e.g. driving licence, passport).

 If you have included the costs for a field trip or other course equipment, please state
 whether this is compulsory or optional. You will need to explain why this is integral to
 participation in your course and show you have no other means of funding it.

 As stated in the Guidance Notes, grants from the RIBA Education Fund are not available to
 contribute to course fees on architecture courses at private education institutions (those that
 charge fees in excess of the amount normally covered by Government loans and grants). If
 your tuition fee loan or grant does not cover your full fees, please explain how you
 intend to finance the gap.
 If your travel costs are high because of exceptional circumstances, please explain
 them here.
 The trustees usually accept costs for travel that includes public transport costs to/from
 University, travel for project work, and one return journey from your family home each
 term. We only accept the costs of a car if you have exceptional reasons for doing so (such as
 if you have small children).
