					VALLEY SOCCER CLUB                         MEETING MINUTES              MARCH 21, 2012                            1

CALLED TO ORDER: 7:38 PM
Attendance: Cristie Schneidt, Kelly Brownell, Mike Hofkin, Bill Rehrig, Ken Pettolichio, Shane Wismer, Mike Freed, Kristine
Kelly, Joanne Feldbruegge
Executive Committee not in attendance : Matt Fuhs
Roll Call List: Strikers, Flash, Galaxy, Venom, Warriors

        Presented plaque to Eagle Scout Ben N. for building the kick wall at Phillips Field, VSC absorbed the nominal
         extra cost associated with the building the wall
        Attorney Chris Meinzer kindly provided legal advice regarding children playing with adults during the “Pick-up”
         games. VSC will pursue the issue further with Chris, in the meantime there will be no Pick-up games involving
         children and adults playing together

TREASURER – KELLY BROWNELL
        Current balance is 64,338 due to receiving Intramural Registration Payments
        RCVD Payment of $700 from Maryann Grant
        Treasurer’s report approved
AUXILLARY – DUSTI FISHER
        Discussed Auxillary budget
        Potential date for Intramural pictures is May 17th
        Corbi Fundraiser will most likely run April 29th – May 11th with P/U on May 24th, Buy Out option available
        Volunteer Schedule is currently being created for the Turf War Tournament
        Budget was discussed, Mike Hofkin stated that a separate Executive Board Meeting would be held to discuss
         budgets in more details and to come up with a consistent budget format for each program
        Budget will be approved after meeting

WEBMASTER – MATT FUHS
        Not in Attendance, no report

OUTDOOR INTRAMURAL – DAVE LINGENFELTER
        Currently 318 Intramural Registrations, 79 Corbi’s Buy Outs, 4 requests for financial aid & 14 sponsors (seeking
         more)
        Will start putting teams together 3/26, Opening Day will be the week of 4/16 at the discretion of the coach
        Working on creating game schedule, games should start May 12th
        Report Approved
TRAVEL – TONY DURNING
        Joint Soccer Camp planned with LBU on June 18 -22 from 9-12pm, held at High School ages 7-14 yo, $125
             o Will receive $1000 back or 15% revenue for holding the camp, online registration available

      Travel Committee met (members are Tony Durning, Shane Wismer, Kyle Fisher, and Lauren Compton, and Mike
       Long) to discuss Travel Team try outs.
           o Try out dates are May 5th, 19th, 20th and June 2nd
           o Kids must attend their age appropriate group, cannot tryout by team
           o Flyers are going out, signs are going up, and ad will be in Town & Country
               Report Approved

INDOOR – BILL REHRIG
      Indoor soccer season was successful, made a profit of $980, less than last year
           o This year we had to pay for a janitor which is more expensive than a site coordinator
           o Not as large of a turnout due to playing on Saturday & basketball being on the same day
           o Extended the playing field for the younger kids, instead of playing short sided – worked well
               Report Approved
FIELDS AND FACILITIES – KEN PETOLICCHIO
      New Goals have been assembled
      Kick Wall is great improvement to Phillips Field, Ken is very happy with it
      Discussed new signage for Phillips Field, possibly making it a memorial field
      Ordered new small sided goals, will be used for Intramural
      Fields will be shifting, change the wear patterns
      Fertilizer will be applied at no cost to VSC, we supply the fertilizer
       Report Approved
FUTURE DIRECTION – DUSTI FISHER SPEAKING FOR KYLE FISHER
      Turf War is almost completely sold out, 73 t-shirts have been sold so far
      Weis, Hatfield, Herrs, BJ’s and the UPSD have provided discounts for snack stand products
      Discussion regarding tournament logistics occurred

OLD BUSINESS:
      Mike Freed discussed the Ottawa Soccer Trip there is currently a hoagie fundraiser underway
           o More fundraisers planned
      Tony stated that the we are done practicing at the Lighthouse church, all practice will now be held outdoors
      Agreed to provide Lighthouse Church with a $250 donation for letting us use their facilities
                     Motion approved
      Cristie will be placed on the VSC account, that will be taken care of in the next few days
      Discussed that there are only 2 ATM cards for the account
           o Kelly’s card isn’t activated
           o Dusti has the only activated card
      Discussed that several people have BJ’s cards, we get 2% cash back on all of our purchases
      We currently do not have tax exempt status because paperwork was not complete
           o Will look into regaining our tax exempt status

       NEW BUSINESS:
      Ken needs current insurance certificate for Camelot Park, Cristie will contact EPYSA to get a new one
          o Camelot needs usage requirements for their fields, Ken is working on this
      Ken is looking for some volunteers to help with Fields and Facilities
      April 28th is the Spring Clean-up, need volunteers and help with roofing, yard work, painting etc
      Ken will send out flyer with details
      Tony discussed 5 policies for Travel Team, policies were passed around

            o    Finanacial aid/discounts were discussed
            o    Travel Team players will try out by age group, not by team, it’s not policy to let players play up a
                 level, but it can be requested and the Travel Team Committee will review the request
                       Kids that are already playing up are grandfathered in
       Policies will be placed on the website for all to review
       Discussed fundraising amongst teams and how the proceeds are distributed, will be discussed in detail at a
        later point
       Travel Team Registration hasn’t been raised in 3 years.
                 Actual amount to put a player on the Field:
                       U9-U10 $158
                       U11-U12 $161
                       U13-U14 $181
                       U15 - $185
         We currently charge $95 a player, Travel Team has always run at a deficit, we can’t continue to run at
             such a deficit
        Is it feasible to raise the fees $50 a person? Tony states we will still be “under water” at this amount
        All in attendance agreed that raising $25 this year and $25 next year would be more feasible
         New Travel Team Fees will be:
                 $120 U12 and below
                 $140 U13 and up
         $25 increase approved
         Cost of the uniforms will be the same

GOOD OF THE ORDER
VSC has been named a partner club with the Bucks Mont Sports Center, our logo is on a banner at their facility
U9 Girls finished 1st in their age bracket in the Bucks Mont games, playoffs this Saturday
