October – November         University and Colleges Liaison Visits to ECI (see Schedule of Visits)
October 5th and 6th        ECI’s Presentation for Graduating Students. (It is especially valuable to student applying to
                           university/college.) Students are invited to attend a 40 min. presentation on Wednesday (at
                           lunch) in the Auditorium or on Thursday (during Period B) in the Library. The second session
                           has very limited space, and is intended for students who CAN’T attend the Wed. session. To
                           sign up for the Thursday session, see Mr. Campbell in Guidance.
October 5th                University Information Night, @ Huron Heights SS at 7pm. See your counsellor for more

October 14th-16th          Ontario Universities’ Fair, @ Metro Convention Centre (for more info, check www.ouf.ca)
October 11th               ECI’s Financial Planning (Scholarship) Workshop at lunch in the Library Seminar Room.
October 12th               Practice SAT test at GCI starting at 8:30am. See your counsellor for more information.
October 18th               Quebec University Info Program (McGill, Concordia, Bishop’s) 7am-11am at Oakville
                           Trafalgar HS. For other locations and dates, see Mr. Campbell.
October 19th               British Columbia Universities/Colleges Fair at Waterloo Inn,, 6:30-8:30pm. For more

October 19th               Parent-Teacher Interviews (all grade levels)
October 25th               Ontario College Information Fair at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place. 10am-7pm.

October 26th and 27th      College Information Program, @ Conestoga ITAL, (for more information, check

October 17th               1st Semester Interim Report Card
Early November             ECI sends student information and mark history (minus current course marks) to OUAC and
                           OCAS for University Applicants
November 23rd              1st Semester Mid-Term Report Card
November 26th              College Open House, @ Conestoga ITAL, 1-3pm (http://www.conestogac.on.ca/visitus)
December 1st               Last date to drop a course before it appears on your permanent transcript.
January 2012               Early (Conditional) Offers of Admission sent out by Universities and Colleges.
February 2012              College Interviews begin for certain programs.
January 11th, 2012         (online) University Applications Deadline 3 choices for $125 with $42 each additional
                           application. (For more info, go to http://www.ouac.on.ca/101).
                           For late applications, and the issues with these, see your Guidance Counsellor.
January 27th               Semester 1 Final Exams begin.
February 1st               College Applications (online) Deadline for Equal Consideration ($95 for 5 choices; 3 max.
                           at any one college. More info at www.ontariocolleges.ca) Also earliest day students can
                           receive offers of admission. For late applications, see your Guidance Counsellor.
February 6th               Semester 2 Begins.
February 8-10th            Grad Photos. Sign up in Student Activities for a timeslot. Payment is due day of your photo.
February 17th              1st Semester Final Report Card
Mid-February               2nd data transmission to OCAS and OUAC (includes February report card marks, first term
                           Night School / eLearning final marks).
March 26th                 2nd Semester Interim Report Card
March 28th                 Parent-Teacher Interviews (all grade levels)
End of April               3rd data transmission to OCAS and OUAC (incl. April report card marks and second term Night
                           School / eLearning course marks).
March 2012                 If you are hoping to receive financial aid from OSAP can visit osap.gov.on.ca The application
                           process dates change year to year, but do your research early!
May 1st                    2nd Semester Mid-Term Report Card.
May 1st                    If you have any offers to your college applications, you need to submit a formal reply by this
                           date (acceptance/deferral/refusal).
May 8th                    Last date to drop a semester two course before it appears on permanent transcript.
May 29th                   The latest date by which all universities must respond to applicants with an
                           offer/refusal/deferral.
June 15th/June 1st         The earliest date that colleges/universities may require a response to an offer of admission
                           and financial commitment. All acceptances must be submitted to the Application Centre.
June 21st                  Semester 2 Final Exams begin.
July 10th                  Final mark submission from ECI to OUAC and OCAS.
November 4th, 2012   Commencement!
