SUBJECT: APPROVE PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH
DANIELIAN ASSOCIATES, INC.

That the Governing Board of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency, by motion, approve
the Professional Service Agreement by and between the Anaheim Redevelopment
Agency and Danielian Associates, Inc. and authorize the Executive Director of the
Redevelopment Agency, or her designee, to execute and administer the Agreement on
behalf of the Agency.
The Community Development Department solicited Statements of Qualifications
(SOQ’s) in May of 2008, to expand its on-call professional architectural consultant
services. Architectural firms with various specializations were asked to submit SOQ’s,
including architectural consultants that were under contract at that time. The City and
Anaheim Redevelopment Agency (Agency) entered into agreements with seven
consultants, one of which was Danielian Associates, Inc. (Consultant). The Community
Development Department will again be soliciting SOQ’s from architectural consultant
firms early next year. However, due to ongoing Agency projects presently under review
by the Consultant, Agency staff is proposing to retain the Consultant’s services to ensure
the review of these projects is not disrupted.
The Consultant is presently working on various projects such as South Street affordable
rental housing project, Colony Park Phase IV residential development and Westgate
commercial development. The Consultant’s design review recommendations have
helped improve site layout, floor plan design and overall exterior design for both
commercial and affordable housing developments.
Attached for consideration and approval is the Professional Service Agreement with the
Consultant. The Agency agreement is for a two-year term and a maximum amount of
$150,000. If approved, the Consultant will continue to provide design review services
on existing projects, as well as on-call architectural design review services for future

Guide for Development, the City’s Density Bonus and Senior Ordinances, and other
design review related services as necessary.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no impact on the General Fund. Sufficient Redevelopment funds are available.
