It is a simple process to request a copy. Far too often we have members separating, looking for employment, etc… and they need a copy of their CG military transcript. The process can take 1-2 weeks to obtain this document from the CG Institute, so having a current unofficial CG Transcript on file is highly recommended. There are two ways to start the process: 1. Go to this CG Institute link: http://www.uscg.mil/hq/cg1/cgi/active_duty/go_to_college/assessment_update.asp and complete the Application for Transcript (CGI-1561) and digitally sign, return to OS3 Vanessa Keyser or ESO for processing. On the form you’ll click assessment if this is your first time requesting an unofficial transcript. If you’ve previously requested an unofficial transcript, but have since attended a C school or have been promoted, then you’ll click “update”. If you need to send an official CG transcript to your college, then click official transcript and enter the colleges name on Page 2. -3- 11/4/2012 2. The second way is to email OS3 Vanessa for the form and assistance in completing. We have counseling/advising appointments daily and can certainly assist you in obtaining an unofficial copy of your CG Transcript. It is highly recommended you maintain a current copy of your CG transcript in your personal education records.
