                                   MARRIAGE’S RIDING CLUB PONY OF THE YEAR

            For ponies 14.2hh and under, riders 16 years and under. To be judged on suitability for all riding / pony club activities.
                                      Will be required to jump. To be ridden in a snaffle bridle only.

        THIS IS A QUALIFYING COMPETITION. THE FIRST THREE PONIES GO FORWARD TO THE NORFOLK FINAL ON
                            SUNDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER 2011 AT NORTH FARM SNETTERTON.
       IF THERE ARE THREE OR LESS PONIES FORWARD ON THE DAY, ONLY THE FIRST PLACED PONY WILL QUALIFY.

RULES AND NOTES FOR 2011

           Ponies to be 14.2hh and under, 4 years old & over.
           Riders to be 16 years old or under on the day of the show. If they will have attained their 17 th birthday before the final, they are still
            eligible.
           Snaffle bridles only. Hanging cheek snaffle’s are permitted, but no wilkie or loop ring bits are allowed.
           Spur’s may not be worn. Whip’s or canes are not to exceed 30 inches (75cm).
           Breastplates and cruppers are allowed.
           No martingales, running, draw or grass reins may be used.
           No lead reins.
           Ponies will be judged mainly on performance, obedience. Confirmation / action are not paramount, but should be taken into
            consideration. At some point during the class all the ponies will be in the ring going round together as some ponies can behave
            differently in company.
           Competitors will be asked to jump three fences; one of these will have a back pole and one may have a filler. Jumps will be a
            minimum of 2ft 3ins in height. Smaller ponies may not have the jump lowered.
           Hazards can include tasks such as gate opening, lowering poles on jumps and leading over, bending poles, fag and cone, mounting and
            dismounting etc, at the discretion of the judge. No reining back.

RIDDEN HUNTERS
Open Ridden Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, exceeding 153cm. Riders any age.
Classes may be divided as follows:
     Lightweight Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, capable of carrying up to 12.7 stone.
     Middleweight Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, capable of carrying 12.7 stone but not 14 stone.
     Heavyweight Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, capable of carrying over 14 stone.

RIDDEN PIEBALD / SKEWBALD
Open ridden Piebald / Skewbald stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over. Rider any age.
Classes may be divided according to entries.

RIDDEN COBS
Open Ridden Cob, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, exceeding 148cm but not exceeding 155cms. Riders any age.
Classes may be divided as follows:
     Open Lightweight Ridden Cob, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, exceeding 148cm but not exceeding 155cms.
     Open Heavyweight Ridden Cob, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, exceeding 148cm but not exceeding 155cms.

IN HAND PIEBALD / SKEWBALD
Open in Hand Piebald / Skewbald stallion, mare or gelding, any age.
Classes may be divided according to entries.
                               The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant
                                                    Equifest Championship to be held at the
                                          East of England Showground on the 18th – 21st August 2011.

RULES AND NOTES FOR 2011 Riders may only ride one animal in each class

BRIGHT STARS LEAD REIN
             Ponies 4 years old or over not exceeding 128cm to be shown on the Lead Rein. Riders not to have attained their 8th birthday before 1st
January in the current year.

BRIGHT STARS FIRST PONY
             Ponies 4 years old or over not exceeding 128cm. Suitable for a child’s First Pony off the Lead Rein. Riders not to have attained their
10th birthday before 1st January in the current year.

BRIGHT STARS HUNTER PONY
         Ponies 4 years old or over not exceeding 153cm. Riders not to have attained their 20 th birthday before 1st January in the current year.

BRIGHT STARS RIDING HORSE
         Animals 4 years old or over, exceeding 148cm. Riders any age

               The 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed in each class will qualify for the final to be held at the 2011 BSPS Championships Show.
                                     Qualifications cards will be awarded to the first three animals in each class

                ENTRY FORM & RULES
Rules

1.  Competitors and spectators attend the show at their own risk. The Organisers and landowners
    cannot be held responsible for any accident, damage, loss or injury to any animal, human,
    vehicles or property, whatsoever.
2.  The Organisers reserve the right to alter, cancel, restrict the number of entries or refuse entry
    to any class at their discretion.
3.  The Judges decision is final
4.  The Organisers reserve the right to substitute any Judge without prior notice
5.  Hard hats must be worn by all riders when mounted and must be of a minimum standard
    BSEN1384/PAS015
6.  In the event of the show being cancelled due to circumstances beyond the Organisers’ control,
    no refunds will be given.
7.  Objections must be made to the Secretary in writing within ten minutes of the finish of the
    class concerned accompanied with a £10 deposit – returnable if the objection is sustained.
8.  Dogs must be kept on leads at all times
