Amateur Championships Internship (1 Unpaid Position)
Reports to: Manager, Rules and Competitions

Main Duties include:
      Become a key member of Golf Canada’s Amateur Championships Division and assist with the
       organization of Canadian Amateur Championships
      Work closely with the championship organizing committees and host club volunteers
      Inputting tournament entry applications and managing entry fees with Accounting Division
      Maintain amateur championships websites and update as needed
      Assist with all aspects of the division as required, including inventory, tournament
       preparations, promotions and program development
      Liaise with national golf associations and NCAA coaches to recruit top amateurs from around
       the world to compete in our Canadian Championships
      Write and proof-read documents, telephone duties, coordinate meetings, photocopying and
       ordering of equipment/supplies

Required skills:
      A motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to work independently and as part of a
       group
      Strict attention to detail and deadlines
      Strong communications skills
      Golf knowledge and bilingual (English and French) are considered assets

Professional Championships Internship (1 Unpaid Position)
Reports to: Coordinator, Professional Championships

Main Duties include:
      Become a key member of Golf Canada’s Professional Championships Division and assist with
       the organization of the RBC Canadian Open and the CN Canadian Women’s Open
      Work closely with the championship organizing committees and 3000 volunteers
      Process volunteer application forms, volunteer uniform payments and maintain volunteer
       database
      Manage Pro-Am database and develop Pro-Am information for corporate clients
      Maintain championships websites and update as needed
      Prepare correspondence and mailings as requested to effectively communicate with clubs,
       committees, volunteers and players
      Produce and distribute championship documents such as a volunteer manual, amateur caddie
       packages and volunteer training documents
      Assist with all aspects of the division as required, including inventory, tournament
       preparations, promotions and program development
      Write and proof-read documents, telephone duties, coordinate meetings, faxing, photocopying
       and ordering of supplies
      Handle incoming Golf Canada Championship related queries

Required skills:
      A motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to work independently and as part of a
       group
      Strict attention to detail and deadlines
      Strong communications skills
      Bilingual (French & English) is considered a strong asset

Sport Development Internship (2 Unpaid Positions)
Reports to: Manager, Sport Development

Main Duties include:
Player Development
    Responsible for maintaining the National Order of Merit:
           o Data entry of tournament results
           o Ensuring the current results are posted on the Golf Canada website
           o Responding to player / parent inquiries related to the National Order of Merit
    National Team responsibilities:
           o Fulfillment of clothing, equipment, etc for National Team Athletes
    CN Future Links “Learn to Play” responsibilities:
           o Fulfillment of program materials to sites & recognition pieces to participants
           o Updating the Learn to Play website on http://www.cnfuturelinks.com/
           o Educating new site locations on back-end website functions
           o Following up with site locations to ensure participants have been entered into the
                participant database
    CN Future Links Girls’ Club responsibilities:
           o Act as liaison between Golf Canada and volunteer site leaders
           o Updating the Girls’ Club website
           o Fulfillment of Girls’ Club membership materials to various sites across Canada
           o Recruitment of new sites and follow-up with existing sites to ensure participants are
                registered and entered into the participant database.
Future Links
    Provide customer service to a range of junior golf stakeholders including instructors, parents
       and facilities for the CN Future Links program (FL)
    Provide customer service to teachers running the National Golf in Schools (NGIS) program
    Responsible for processing, tracking and fulfilling FL and NGIS online orders
    Manage and track inventory levels of FL and NGIS materials, merchandise and equipment
    Assist golf instructors in tracking FL participant progress online with a content management
       system
      Assist in planning and execution of junior initiatives at RBC Canadian Open and CN Canadian
       Women’s Open
    Assist in planning and execution of the Junior Skills Challenge National Event
    Assist in maintaining both FL & NGIS websites and making updates when necessary
    Assist in creating communications initiatives to promote FL programs
Golf Fore the Cure
    Assist with reconciling incoming donations with the Canadian Cancer Society and Quebec
       Breast Cancer Foundation
    Responsible for updating the Golf Fore the Cure website
    Attend and provide support at the Golf Fore the Cure - National Event
    Provide support with issuing year end thank you letters to all Golf Fore the Cure stakeholders
    Responsible for entering all participant information into a database

Partnership Marketing Internship (1 Unpaid Position)
Reports to: Coordinator, Partnership Marketing & Director, Partnership Marketing

Launch your career while working with blue chip companies such as RBC, CN, Bell, BMW and Molson
as a key part of Golf Canada’s dynamic Commercial Operation’s Team. Gain hands on sports
administration experience supporting business development initiatives for Canada’s premier sports
properties including national grassroots golf programs and the pinnacle of Canadian golf, the CN
Canadian Women’s Open and the RBC Canadian Open.

Main Duties include:
      Provide support to the Coordinator, Partnership Marketing and Director, Partnership Marketing
       working with Golf Canada sponsors as a key member of the Partnerships team
      Support the development and execution of sponsor service plans as per their respective
       agreements including the timely and accurate fulfillment of all contract obligations
      Correspond with Golf Canada sponsors on agreement deliverables, event invitations and the
       partner appreciation program
      Develop creative sponsor activation ideas for RBC Canadian Open, CN Canadian Women’s
       Open and other Golf Canada properties
      Maintain high quality, up to date materials on all assigned properties
      Prepare sponsor reports
      Provide administrative support in the following areas;
           o Compile photos and prepare sponsor reports
           o Research sponsor prospect businesses and prepare sponsor presentations
           o Provide follow up with past customers and pursue sales opportunities in future
                markets
           o Filing, binding, printing, photocopying or other duties as assigned

Business Development Internship (1 Unpaid Position)

Partnerships

      Implement the sales plan for the RBC Canadian Open (RBCCO) and CN Canadian Women’s
       Open (CNCWO) corporate hospitality inventory
      Correspond with past, current and potential Golf Canada customers
      Research sponsor prospect businesses and prepare sponsor presentations for RBCCO, CNCWO
       and other Golf Canada properties
      Support ticket sales strategy for RBCCO and CNCWO
      Prospect new revenue opportunities
      Provide administrative support in the following areas;

Licensing and Merchandising Internship (1 Unpaid Position)
Reports to: Manager, Licensing & Merchandising

experience supporting business development initiatives for Canada’s premier sports properties

Main duties include:
      Providing direct support to the Manager, Licensing & Merchandising
      Communicate with key suppliers for merchandise related requests (e.g. Adidas, Titleist, Under
       Armour)
      Assist with product selection and production of SHOP GOLF 2013, the Official RBC Canadian
       Open corporate catalogue
      Source and provide product recommendations for sponsor gifting ( including RBC, CN, BMW)
      Maintain current customer and vendor catalogue files
      Assist in any Golf Canada Boutique (E-store) requirements www.boutique.golfcanada.ca
      Assist with various aspects of Golf Canada Official licensed programs (including licensee
       agreements)
      Provide administrative support in the following areas:
           o Purchase orders, invoicing, tracking royalties (training provided)
           o TaylorMade- Adidas golf order tracking (specific to sponsorship agreement)
           o Photocopying or other administrative duties as assigned
           o Participate in special projects and assignments as requested

Required skills:
      Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
      Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
      Experience in retail or keen interest in fashion considered an asset
      Ability to meet deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment and work without supervision
      Interest in golf and bilingual (English and French) considered an asset

Media & Public Relations Internship (1 Unpaid position)
Reports to: Coordinator, Media & Public Relations

Main Duties include:
    Assisting with the development and updating of championship media guides
    Research, write and distribute media releases as required
    Assist in managing photo requests for the department
    Developing content, editing and proofreading Golf Canada magazine, the e-Golf
      Canada e-newsletter and other Golf Canada publications
    Developing content for Golf Canada on-line properties
    Assist in promoting Golf Canada properties and/or departments, as well as writing
      stories, fact sheets and backgrounders as required
    Assist with communication initiatives for two (2) Golf Canada professional golf
      championships (RBC Canadian Open and CN Canadian Women's Open) as well as
      Golf Canada’s amateur championship events
    Assist in the creation and maintenance of local, regional and national media
      databases
    Working co-operatively to learn about best practices for promoting amateur golf in
      Canada
