For the attention of:

Dear Mr Lalor,

Town & Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended); Greater London
Authority Act 1999; Town & Country Planning (Mayor of London) Order
2000
Site E (Units 3 & 4), Canada Water
I refer to your letter of 20 December 2004, consulting the Mayor of London on the above
planning application. On 23 February 2005, the Mayor considered a report on this proposal,
reference PDU/0445e/01. A copy of the report is attached, in full.

You will be aware that the Mayor previously considered a report on the proposal in July 2003,
reference PDU/0445c/01. At that time, the Mayor generally supported the proposal subject to
levels of affordable housing provision and various detailed transport matters.

Additional information has been provided by the applicant in relation to affordable housing;
transport and the impact of the development on the wider setting consultation area for the
Strategic View of St. Paul’s Cathedral from Greenwich Park.

Having considered the report, the Mayor has concluded that in strategic planning terms, the
proposal is acceptable.

 After an evaluation of a Three Dragons affordable housing assessment, the
applicants have agreed to provide six additional intermediate housing units which
will be provided on-site or by way of a financial contribution. The units will be
secured by way of a unilateral undertaking.

 The applicants have agreed to provide funding towards Selective Vehicle Detection
Signals at the junction of Surrey Quays Road and Canada Street and contribute
            towards pedestrian connectivity improvements.

Direct telephone: 020 7983 5750 Fax: 020 7983 4706 Email: martin.scholar@london.gov.uk
 The development will be visible but will not adversely affect the Strategic View.

Yours sincerely,

Giles Dolphin
