"TCU Panhellenic Bylaw Proposals"
Bylaw Suggestions: Changes: 1. Article V. Section 7: Removal a. OLD: If an officer fails to fulfill their duties and responsibilities, the Panhellenic Advisor has the authority to recommend the Panhellenic Association vote to remove the officer from her position. b. NEW: If an officer fails to fulfill their duties and responsibilities, the Panhellenic President or the Panhellenic Advisor has the authority to recommend the Panhellenic Association vote to remove the officer from her position. In the event that the Panhellenic President’s position is in question, the Vice President of Management can recommend removing the President. Any officer may be removed for cause by a vote of two-thirds of the Panhellenic Council. 2. Article V. Section 9 (all officers) a. OLD: Current Recruitment Responsibilities b. NEW: All Panhellenic Executive Officers will serve as a member of the Recruitment team. 3. Article V. Section 9, A, d: Add IGC. 4. Article V. Section 9, I, b: “Leads and plans” 5. Article V. Section 9, B, part h. a. OLD: responsibility of Vice President of Management. b. NEW: responsibility of Vice President of Public Relations. 6. Article V. Section 9, I, part e. a. OLD: Must have previously served as a Panhellenic Council member, on chapter recruitment team, or as a Recruitment Guide; b. NEW: take out “on chapter recruitment team.” 7. Article V. Section 9, G, c OLD: Meets with Service Chairmen regularly to provide them guidance and assistance with philanthropic and service opportunities NEW: Reach out to Service Chairmen as an available resource for guidance and assistance with philanthropic and service opportunities. 8. Article VI. Section 8 a. OLD: The Panhellenic Delegate and Chapter President from each chapter must be in attendance at each Panhellenic Council meeting. Chapters may have a substitute if either regular representative is unable to attend. Consistent failure to have the said members in attendance will result in a fine to be determined by the Vice President of Finance and Administration. b. NEW: Add Associate Delegate and define consistent failure and fine. 9. Article VI. Section 10, A a. OLD: one week b. NEW: two weeks 10. Article VI. Section 10, B a. Add recolonization plan. 11. Article X. Section 5, B a. NEW: dues determined by February b. REASON: many chapters revise budgets in March. 12. Article XVII. Amendment of Bylaws a. OLD: Proposals shall be presented to Panhellenic delegates at least one week prior to voting. b. NEW: These bylaws may be amended at any regular or special meeting of the Texas Christian University Panhellenic Council by a two-thirds vote, provided that the proposed amendment has been announced and submitted in writing two weeks prior to the day of the vote.
