VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Close Date: Open Continuously OFFICE SUPPORT STAFF Status: Hourly/Temporary Staff The office support staff pool is used to fill existing or anticipated temporary needs within Shoreline Community College departments and programs. Qualified applicants will be placed into the office support staff pool and may be contacted for short- term or temporary work as openings occur. QUALIFICATIONS Required Education & Experience: High School Graduate or equivalent ; OR six (6) months of clerical work experience; OR equivalent education/experience Knowledge of & Skill In: General office practices/procedures; English grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation; basic arithmetic MS Office applications such as Excel, Internet Explorer, Outlook and Word; use of general office equipment Contributing to diversity by fostering a climate of multicultural appreciation Time management, multitasking, and attention to detail; communicating effectively both orally and in writing Physical Work Environment: Ability to meet the physical demands of sitting for prolonged periods of time at a desk/computer workstation, using repetitive arm, hand and finger movements Ability to work in an open office setting with frequent in-person interaction and numerous interruptions, work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and prioritize competing demands Terms of Employment These positions may work full or part-time on an on call basis, for periods of one week to six months, or to fill in for permanent staff absences. As an hourly on-call position, there is no predictability or guarantee of the number of hours/days that may be scheduled. Hourly employees maintain an “at-will” employment relationship meaning that either you or the College may terminate the employment relationship at any time, for any reason. Salary will be based on the specifics of the individual assignment.
