Job Description Post Title: Community Sports Development Officer JJ285 Responsible to: Sports Centre Manager Responsible for: Staff as allocated Job purpose: To assist with the overall management, development and administration of the Sports Centre. To assist with the development of a comprehensive community sports programme. To manage rugby provision for Gosforth Federated Academies including the AASE scheme or equivalent Evaluation: 502 points Grade: N6 1. To assist the Sports Centre Manager with the effective day-to-day operation of the Sports Centre, including the supervision of staff and customers, the operation and control of all plant and equipment and undertaking key holder responsibilities. 2. To ensure a high quality of service for all customers and to deal with any matters raised by customers, either directly or by reference to the Sports Centre Manager. 3. To manage and deliver the Rugby Vocational Qualification maintaining close links with the Falcons Rugby club including all aspects of the AASE scheme or equivalent 4. To develop and run Federation and community Rugby programmes 5. To develop and manage a programme of out of school hours and holiday sports activities for children and young people. 6. To undertake an active role in service delivery and coaching as appropriate. 7. To ensure appropriate equipment, facilities and services are available for the implementation of the activity programmes. 8. To assist in the procurement of additional resources for community sports and the Rugby programmes, including identifying opportunities for accessing grant aid, sponsorship and any other appropriate form of income generation. 9. To assist the Sports Centre Manager in the control of expenditure and income relating to community sports initiatives, maximising efficiency, effectiveness and economy and keeping such records as required. 10. To promote and implement the Equality policy of Gosforth Federated Academies in all aspects of employment and service delivery. 11. To assist in maintaining a healthy, safe and secure environment and to act in accordance with the policies and procedures of Gosforth Federated Academies.
