As the lead advancement officer for the Athletics division, and under the joint direction of the Director of Athletics and the Associate Vice President for Development,
you will be responsible for the management of all advancement activities for the Department of Athletics, including management of six full-time employees and a variety
of volunteer groups. Responsibilities include managing principal and leadership-level fundraising activities to raise private support. In this role, you will be required to:

nationally, seeks an Associate Vice President (AVP) for Development. In 2009, Spelman publicly launched the most significant fundraising effort in its history, The
Campaign for Spelman College, a comprehensive effort to raise $150 million in funds that will ultimately enhance the educational opportunity for every Spelman student
scholar.

 Working closely with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Spelman’s senior leadership, the AVP will assist in the development and implementation of
fundraising strategies to ensure the success of the College’s campaign and annual development efforts. Overseeing a team of seven the AVP will provide counsel and
support to Spelman’s senior leadership, volunteer leaders and Institutional Advancement (IA) staff to effectively identify, qualify, engage, and convert a pipeline of
leadership donor prospects into a rich portfolio of relationships motivating them toward a higher level of support through a more purposeful and personal cultivation
approach. The AVP will collaborate with colleagues, offices and programs across campus to generate resources for the College, particularly the College's Centers and
Museum. In addition to this, the AVP will personally manage a prospect portfolio of signification major and principal level prospects and donors. S/he will also negotiate

 In partnership with provider, responsible for managing health wellness program which includes sending monthly emails to community on various health topics,
promoting the various initiatives, classes, lunch and learns, and other activities. Demonstrate understanding of health wellness programs and coordinate periodic
benefits fairs.
 Demonstrate knowledge with consumer driven health plans and pre-tax savings accounts.
 Proficiently manage FMLA, disability leaves, workers’ compensation leaves, etc., provide general informational sessions to explain benefits related to leave, ensure
timely return of paperwork, notify payroll of leave details and pay, facilitate communications between employee and their manager on transition issues both upon
departure and return.
 Conduct monthly new employee benefit orientation sessions; accurately respond to inquiries and plan offerings and ensure employees submit completed forms and all
other supporting documentation by required time frame; ensure forms are entered in benefits systems timely and accurately. Directly submit retirement related

The Development Office at James Madison University is responsible for developing and managing programs leading to private gifts which will support and advance the
university's faculty, students and programs. The staff identifies potential donors, educates alumni, friends, corporations and foundations about financial needs of the
university and conducts solicitations to meet these needs. The Development Office also serves as central coordinator for all fundraising efforts across the campus.
The purpose of this position is to oversee a comprehensive annual giving program to address the needs of the university and its academic units. The Director of the Office
of Annual Giving reports to the Senior Director of Administration and Planning. The position requires an understanding of the academic and co-curricular program goals
