   Salary range: Level 7 $75,181 - $83,627 p.a. or
   Salary range: Level 8 $84,072 - $92,075 p.a.
   Level of appointment is dependent on qualifications and experience
   Plus 17% superannuation

Western Australia's next 100 years and beyond. As a Faculty Development Officer you will
assist the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics in alumni engagement and
fundraising by building and maintaining relationships with the Faculty's alumni, supporters,
and professional associations. As part of the Development Team you will assist in securing
funds for the University's key centenary priorities of providing comprehensive scholarships,
cutting edge research, and quality teaching and student facilities. We are seeking a person
with a proven track record in relationship building and the tenacity to develop and present
fundraising proposals that will support the University’s centenary priorities.

ROLE STATEMENT
Under the direction of the Development Manager, and in consultation with the Faculty, the incumbent
will participate in planning and implementing a range of programs and events to enhance the
relationship between the Faculty of Engineering, Computing & Mathematics (ECM) and its alumni, and
will plan and implement various fundraising projects as part of an overall University Alumni and
Fundraising strategy.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In consultation with the Faculty and the Alumni Relations team, develop and implement the ECM
alumni engagement program including collaborating with the Events team to plan and organise
reunions and fundraising functions in line with the Faculty’s requirements

Build relationships with the Faculty’s alumni groups and professional bodies to develop opportunities
to advance the alumni and fundraising priorities of the Faculty

Under the guidance of the Development Manager and focusing on the ECM Faculty’s fundraising
priorities develop targeted fundraising and sponsorship projects and proposals, and secure donations
(up to $100,000)

Actively seek information and assist in recording, monitoring and tracking prospect information on
alumni through the use of the Raiser’s Edge prospect-tracking module

Identify potential donors for scholarships, prizes and memorial gifts and work within the University’s
systems and processes to ensure their establishment

Assist Faculty fundraising committees in fundraising matters

Liaise with the Annual Fund Manager to organise a targeted annual giving program for ECM alumni

Identify possible bequests and liaise with the Manager, Bequests to obtain gifts

Liaise with the Manager, Donor Relations and Stewardship to ensure appropriate acknowledgement of
the Faculty’s donors

Assist the Faculty in developing appropriate communication mechanisms with its alumni including
encouraging the use of AlumniConnect and providing relevant information on alumni and fundraising
matters for their website and various newsletters

Achieve the position’s performance outcomes as agreed with your supervisor

    Tertiary qualification or commensurate experience preferred
    Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written including experience in
    writing proposals and background research for the not for profit sector
    Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work productively both independently and within a

    Demonstrated consultation, collaborative networking, negotiation and problem solving skills and
    the ability to develop high quality relationships with various constituencies including volunteers,

    Demonstrated ability to build relationships and where appropriate secure donations

Under broad direction from the Development Manager and in consultation with the Faculty, the
incumbent will plan and implement a range of programs and events to enhance the relationship
between the Faculty of Engineering, Computing & Mathematics (ECM) and its alumni, provide
professional advice, and plan and implement fundraising strategies to secure gifts that meet the
strategic priorities of the Faculty as part of an overall University Alumni and Fundraising strategy.

prospects including the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of these donors

Actively seek information and assist in recording, monitoring and tracking prospect information on
alumni through the use of the Raiser’s Edge prospect-tracking module

Identify potential donors for scholarships, prizes and memorial gifts and work within the University’s
systems and processes to ensure their establishment

Assist Faculty fundraising committees in fundraising matters including the provision of professional
fundraising advice in line with University policy

Liaise with the Annual Fund Manager to develop a suitable strategy for alumni annual giving and plan
and implement a targeted annual giving program for ECM alumni

Liaise with the Manager, Donor Relations and Stewardship to develop an appropriate stewardship
