Creating a Presentation

   1. Open Microsoft PowerPoint
   2. Click on the Blank Presentation button and click Ok.
   3. Choose the slide layout that you wish to use. The layout that contains
      text and pictures is the best to use for this practice.

To add Text or a Title to a slide:

   1. Click the Text or Title area and type in your text.
   2. To remove the Bullets: click Format/ Bullets/ and remove the check
      mark at the "Use a Bullet" check box.

To add a Picture to a slide:

   1. Double click the Picture area and then click Ok.
   2. The clip art dialog box will open to allow you to choose a clip art
      picture.
   3. Click the Insert button to add the picture to your slide.
   4. NOTE: To import a non-clip art picture:

           o   Click the Import clips button on the clip art dialog box.
           o   Choose your file.
           o   Choose the picture you would like to import and click Open.
           o   Click the Picture tab and click on the picture you opened.
           o   Click the Insert button to add the picture to your slide.

To add a New Slide:

   1.   Click the Insert
   2.   Choose New Slide.
   3.   Choose the slide layout.
   4.   Click Ok.

Check Spelling:

   1. Click Tools.
   2. Click Spelling.

Changing the Slide View:

In the bottom left corner of your screen you will see four icons that represent
the different views that Power point offers you to view a presentation on your
screen. From left to right these icons are:

       Slide View: Slide view displays one slide at a time. This view is useful
        for changing the layout or design of your slide.
       Outline View: The outline view displays the text on all the slides. This
        view lets you develop the content and organization of your presentation.
       Slide Sorter View: The slide sorter view displays a miniature version of
        each slide. This view lets you see a general overview of your
        presentation.
       Notes Page View: The Notes Page view displays one slide at a time,
        with space to type comments. You can use these comments as a guide
        when delivering your presentation.

Adding Animation to your Pictures:

   1. Click on the picture that you wish to animate.
   2. Choose Slide Show from the menu.
   3. Click Custom Animation.
   4. Click the name of the Object in the timing window.
   5. Click the Effects tab.
   6. Click the drop down menu beside the "Entry animation and sound"
      window.
   7. Choose the animation effect.
   8. Choose a sound to be associated with the animation.

Adding Animation to a Title or Text :

   1. Click on the Title or Text that you wish to animate.
   2. Choose Slide Show from the menu.
   3. Click Custom Animation.
   4. Click the name of the Text or Title in the timing window.
   5. Click the Effects tab.
   6. Click the drop down menu beside the "Entry animation and sound"
      window.
   7. Choose the animation effect.
   8. Choose a sound to be associated with the animation.
To Preview a Slide Show:

   1. Choose Slide Show from the menu.
   2. Click View Show.
   3. Click the mouse or press enter to advance from one slide to another.

To Rehearse the timing of the Slide Show:

When your slide show is complete you need to set the timings of the slide show
so that it will run by itself. When you practice the timings of your slide show
remember that you must allow enough time for each slide to be read and
examined.

   1. Choose Slide Show from the menu.
   2. Click Reherse Timings.
   3. Click the mouse or press the enter button to advance the animation or
      slide.
   4. At the end of the slide show a dialog box will tell you what the time that
      the show has run and ask if you wish to use these timings. Click Yes.

A dialog box will ask if you would like to return to Slide Sorter View. Click
