GCSE COURSE DESCRIPTION

In Full Course GCSE PE pupils cover the following aspects; Applied
Anatomy & Physiology, Training Methods and Exercise and Safety Aspects
and Risk Assessment in Physical Activity and Sport.

Pupils will undertake a range of practical activities, offering four for
assessment. They will be required to show advanced skills within the
context of the activity and demonstrate their abilities in increasingly
challenging situations. The course will involve two theory and one practical
lesson per week.

The sports that can be covered within the practical component of the course
are wide and varied but will include Athletics, Badminton, Basketball,
Football, Netball, Rugby and Trampolining.

ASSESSMENT

Coursework:
Practical - 50% (25% teacher grade, 25% external moderation)
Analysis of Performance - 10% including a personal exercise programme

Exam - Multiple choice answers
       Short answer questions
