Department of Exceptional Student Education Occupational/Physical Therapy Prone Over Wedge Safety *Please review individual programs that are developed by the Physical Therapist. Precautions: 1. Use braces when noted. 2. Fasten straps very securely. 3. Double check body alignment. 4. Be aware of student fearfulness. 5. Check straps frequently if student plays with them so they remain secure. 6. Position is tiring. Keep activity short. 7. Be careful if student has gastric buttons for feeding. 8. Do not maintain prone over wedge greater than 30 minutes due to tiring nature of this positions. 9. Contact physical therapist if any concerns or problems.
