									                      PERFORMING ARTS NETWORK DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
                         FUTURE JOBS FUND POST – 6 MONTH PART TIME

Are you between the ages of 18-24 and have you been on Job Seekers Allowance for between 5 & 9
months? Do you have an interest in developing a career in the performing arts? If so you may be
eligible to apply for a 6 month part-time paid position (25 hours a week minimum wage) through the
PANDA Future Jobs Fund scheme. We are offering an exciting position which will work on a project
involving the collaboration of 4 organisations:

       ADAD (Association of Dance of the African Diaspora)
        Supports the practice and appreciation of Dance of the African Diaspora.

       STAY (Sustained Theatre Artists Yorkshire)
        Part of the Sustained Theatre national network which keeps issues relating to Black, Asian
        and minority ethnic theatre artists and practitioners alive and in the national debate.

        Performing arts network aiming to foster talent and enterprise across the North.

       Phoenix Dance Theatre
        Phoenix Dance Theatre has grown to be one of Britain's leading contemporary dance
        companies. From our home in Leeds, the company tours nationally and internationally, with
        the aim of bringing inspiring and entertaining dance to the widest possible audience.


The Performing Arts Network Development Officer will work mostly from Leeds, but will travel
across Yorkshire and the NW in order to assist the 4 partners to develop a cohesive network -
including mapping and research into current provision, creating communication links between the
partners and their networks and helping to organise events to consolidate the partnership. This is
an opportunity which will enable the postholder to gain valuable contacts, experience, coaching
and training provided by experienced and established professionals & network support agencies.


The successful candidate will have good oral and written communication skills, be able to work on
their own initiative whilst part of a team and have proven interest in the performing arts. They
MUST be eligible to apply for a future jobs fund post – this can be checked with a job centre advisor.
