         PARENT & TEACHER ASSOCIATION

Chair Person: Ian Coupland
Vice-Chair Person: Charlotte Armsby
Treasurer: Jo Dembrey
Secretary: Sarah Morris

Welcome to Partney School P.T.A. As I am sure you are aware that when your
child/children join the school, you as parents automatically become members of our
P.T.A. Our role within the school is to raise funds towards the purchase of items for
the school and children to improve their learning, environment, activities and to treat
the children throughout their time at Partney School.

The Committee meet for a main meeting , which is very informal, only 3 times a year,
that’s just once a term (although we may need to add some extra meetings from time to
time to arrange the details of fund raisers). We hold the meetings either after the
school day has finished at 3.30pm within school where someone is also available to look
after and occupy your child/children while we hold the meeting and then for those who
are unable to come to these meetings we also hold some at 7.30pm in a local pub. If
you wish to attend a meeting then please feel free to just turn up (tea and coffee
available during the meetings held in school). The meeting dates and times for this
School Year are below (although sometimes they have to be moved but we will inform
you). There is also usually a reminder on the weekly School News Letter sent home
with your child/children when a meeting is due to be held that week.

P.T.A Meetings 2012/2013:

General Meeting – 12th March 2013 at 3.30pm in School

General Meeting – 15th May 2013 at 3.30pm in School.

AGM – 25th September 2013 at 3.30pm in School.
What We Do:

Our aim as a P.T.A is to run various fund raising events throughout the school year so
that all parents/children/guardians/grandparents/friends etc. can at least attend
some of these. At the moment we currently run:

 Chocolate Bingo around Easter time.
 Pamper Evening for parents to relax watching a movie, have some nibbles and
receive a beauty treatment at a very reduced rate all for a small sum.
 Family Quiz Night – A team based quiz.
 Family Photo Sitting Evening for those wishing to have a lovely family picture by
a professional photographer without the sitting fee.
 School Fete – Various Stalls and activities.
    School Disco.
 Craft Evening where the children make something for Mother’s day or other
       special days.
 School calendars with the children’s self-drawn portraits and most school diary
       dates.
 Tea Towels and Shopping Bags with each child’s self-drawn portraits on them.
 Eco bags where we can all have a de-clutter at home and help raise money for
       the school.

How We Spend The Money We Raise:

Over the last few years we have been able to provide the school with lots of new
equipment and have also been able treat the children to things. Here are some of the
things the P.T.A has been able to fund:

    Classroom Interactive Smart boards.
 Digital Camera for the children to use and to record their learning and school
       trips out.
 New plastic picnic benches for outside learning in the summer and for the
children to use during lunch in the summer
 Wrist Watches for children who are able to tell the time to a certain standard.
 Commemorative Mugs for the Royal Wedding of William and Catherine.
 Guitars to enable children to have Guitar lessons with Mrs White if they wish to.
 New Recorder Books for the children learning to play the recorder.
 Christmas Presents for the children from Santa at their Christmas Parties.
 Paid towards the school bus to take the children to their swimming lessons,
therefore making the cost of these lessons much less for parents overall.
Helping Hand’s:

We realise that all you parents are busy people with juggling working and looking after
your children but as such a small school we need the support of as many parents as
possible to help make these fundraisers work to help supply things for the school and
for your child education/enjoyment which the School budget would not cover. You do
not have to be a member of the committee to help out at any of the events (although
we would love to see you at the meetings) or help at every event but even if you could
help in some way it would really be appreciated. If you are able to help, whether it be
by donating your time to one event such as running a stall at the summer fete, serving
refreshments for 20 minutes during an event, help set up or clear away an event or
you can donate your skills to an event then please can you complete the form at the
end of this letter with your email address so that we can contact you to ask if you are
able to help in any way at future fund raising events as we get round to arranging them.

Thanking you in advance,

PARTNEY P.T.A COMMITTEE
