“I Don’t Like it Here”
Directions: Answer the following question using the “recipe for response” method. Be
certain to include all steps in order to gain full credit. Your response should be 5-7
sentences in length.
Lennie states in Chapter 2, “I don’t like this place, George. This ain’t no good place. I
wanna get outa here” (32). Explain what he means by this statement. What are some of
the conflicts that you see coming George and Lennie’s way? How do you know that
there is potential trouble? Identify some of the characters who might give them trouble
and define their personalities using descriptions from the novel to support your ideas. Be
certain to use (ll) parenthetical documentation when you find examples.
