TECHNICAL CONSULTANT, Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region
3/99 to 12/99 Reported to the Y2k Program Director for the State of California. The primary liaison to Kaisers' 14 service
area Y2k Project Managers to reconcile and track their Y2k progress towards remediation. Project Manager to
work with SMS engineering and the Service Areas to identify and coordinate a wide range of solutions from
desktop build issues, SMS server configuration issues, design, optimization; to recovering down SMS servers
and data. This included working with the area SMS engineers at a technical level to overcome SMS issues,
identify and reconcile their desktop inventories and in depth technical requirements for the desktop
engineering-to-SMS reporting requirements. Coordinated with the SMS engineering and Y2k reporting
teams to pull the desktop inventory from SMS' SQL database and download into an Access database. The
SMS inventories were vital to manage and track progress toward completion of Y2k remediation as well as
Y2k updates to the desktop level. Created a weekly automated down load process that brought in over 60,000
desktop inventory records from the SQL feeds and processed it into the Kaiser reporting structure. Designed
and published reports on the overall progress towards Y2k remediation for all of California' s 14 service
areas. Worked with SMS Engineering and Microsoft to assist in coordinating the recovery of their central
SMS site that managed an inventory of over 45,000 systems.
MANAGER, Computing Platform, Assistant Vice President, Wells Fargo Bank, Private Client Services Division, SF
11/97 to 2/99 Manager of the computing platform for all of Private Client Services. Developed and defined overall strategy
for desktop platform management, called project PRESTO, the deployment of 1,500 Windows NT 4.0
workstations for Trust and Portfolio Manager Division end-users in 8 states. The rollout entailed mission
critical production applications, including those for trust management and securities trading. Manager for a
team of ten, including programmers and network engineers that developed and implemented the entire

their legacy order entry/purchasing system at their 8 California locations.
WAN communications covered 8 locations and 200+ users and the different telecommunications options
needed to handle the synchronization of data from each location. Topics included; Network operating
systems, migration and coexistence issues, system fault tolerance, telecommunication options; including
point to point and frame relay.
The analysis of their legacy system covered several options to re-design the database and evolve their
current system into a 32 bit Windows NT/Windows 95 compatible client server model. The Scope of
