Sasquatch News Script
Tess: (Start PowerPoint). Hello. This is Tess on Sasquatch News. There has been
a Breaking News Alert. A Sasquatch has been spotted in Western Michigan.
Sasquatches are a mix between apes and humans. Did you know they are 7 to 10
feet tall and can weigh up to 900 pounds? They are also really hairy.
Tess: Here are some people from the scene. Matt Moneymaker has been
searching for a Sasquatch and finally came eye to eye with one in the woods of
eastern Ohio. He lives in Dana Point, California and is a lawyer who runs his own
marketing agency. In his spare time, he leads the Bigfoot Field Researchers
Organization, a network of more than 3,000 people who claim to have seen a
Tess: Jeff Meldrum is a Professor of Anatomy and Anthropology at Idaho State
University in Pocatello, Idaho.
Tess: Jane Goodall who is a renowned chimpanzee researcher. Last year she
surprised an interviewer from National Public Radio when she said she was sure
that large, undiscovered primates, such as the Yeti or Sasquatch, exist.
Tess: First is Matt Moneymaker. Hello Matt, how did seeing your first Sasquatch
affect you and what was it like to come face to face with one?
Mr. Moneymaker: Seeing my first Sasquatch affected me because it seemed like
it was about to attack. I felt terrified. I wrote an article for National Geographic
and in it I stated that I have been searching for Bigfoot for years. When I saw my
first sasquatch it was 2 o'clock in the morning and the moon was a quarter full.
Suddenly, there he was, an eight-foot-tall creature, standing 15 feet away,
growling at me. He wanted to let me know I was in a bad place. Some people
believe there are at least 2,000 sasquatches walking upright in North America's
woods today. I was wondering if people dress up in costumes to think that they
were famous for discovered something amazing. Can you answer that Professor
Jeff: Sure. Some people have seen them but they do not know if it is a costume
or if it is real. I also wrote an article for National Geographic. I stated that
given the scientific evidence I have examined, I’m convinced there’s a
creature out there yet to be identified. I have a question for Jane Goodall.
The question is “Are sasquatches dangerous?”
Jane: Yes. In fact sasquatches are semi-dangerous because no one has ever been
included in a major Sasquatch attack. Mr. Moneymaker, do you know if
sasquatches are related to Bigfoot?
Mr. Moneymaker: Bigfoot is not related to sasquatches. Because they are the
same thing. They just they have two different names. Scientists
usually call them sasquatches though. In Australia, Sasquatches
are known as the Yowie Man. Sasquatch stories go back for
centuries. Stories from Native American Tribes and people in
Asia and Europe told Tales of mythical giant apes. The
Himalaya have its Abominable Snowman, or the Yeti. Jeff, what
shouldn’t you do if you see a Sasquatch?
Jeff: There are two things that you should NOT do if you see a Sasquatch. One is
turn on your lights and the other is to go outside. Investigator Jimmy Chilcutt of
the Conroe Police Department in Texas, who specializes in finger- and footprints,
has analyzed the more than 150 casts of Bigfoot prints that I keep in a laboratory.
“The ridge flow pattern and the texture of the footprint is completely different
from anything I've ever seen. It certainly wasn't human, and of no known primate
that I've examined. The print ridges flowed lengthwise along the foot, unlike
human prints, which flow across. The texture of the ridges was about twice the
thickness of a human, which indicated that this animal has a real thick
skin.”Jimmy said. Jimmy is convinced that Bigfoot is real.
Jane: Mr. Moneymaker, are Sasquatches important?
Mr. Moneymaker: I think sasquatches are important because there are very few
of them. Sasquatches are very important to scientists but not that
important to people because some people don't believe they are real. Jeff,
where do sasquatches live?
Jeff: Sasquatches can be found in caves, woods, forests, and in the mountain
regions of North America. Also, Bigfoot experts guess that this creature
was the descended from an Asian ape that came to North America during
the ice age. They believe there are at least 2000 sasquatches in North
Jane: The top ten places to find sasquatches are Washington, California, Oregon,
Ohio, Texas, Florida, Michigan, British Columbia, Illinois, and Colorado.
Tess: Thank you all for sharing this wonderful information. I really learned a lot.
