Grand Prix in India The most awaited 2012 Formula 1 Airtel Indian Grand Prix in India which is happening in the 5.14km long Buddh International Circuit (BIC) will be witnessed by 100,000 spectators in some days. Just shortly after Dusshera, Indian fans will be amazed once again by the most prestigious car racing competition in the world will be happening on 26th to 28th of October 2012. Formula One, the highest class of single-seater auto racing is endorsed by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The high class racing worldwide is consists of a series of races that is held on purpose-built circuits and some street circuits. Winners are determined by announcing two annual FIA Formula One World Championships. The most celebrated award are given to the drivers and to the Constructor who are required to be holders of valid Super License, the highest class of racing license issued by the FIA. Formula One cars are regarded as the fastest circuit-racing cars globally with speed capacity of up to 318 km/h (192 mph). For the 2012 Formula 1 Airtel Indian Grand Prix, the teams that will be joining include Red Bull, Mc Laren , Ferrari, Mercedez, Lotus, Force India, Sauber, Toro Rosso, Williams, Caterham, HRT and Marussia. About Buddh International Circuit (BIC): Buddh International Circuit (BIC) was designed by the well renowned German architect and racetrack designer Herman Tilke who also did the world class race circuits located in Bahrain, China, Malaysia, UAE, South Africa, Turkey, Indonesia, South Korea and United States. It is among the fastest and the most exciting motor race circuits worldwide that is suited for highly powerful racing motorcycles and cars. With its design and size, it is expected to host some of the best motorsport events in the world. It is built with high-speed 3 straights and dramatic changes in elevation and 16 corners to offer sufficient angle for overtaking that makes the motor racing more exciting. Aside from that, it is complete with run- off areas, medical facilities, facilities for the media and is designed based on adherence to safety norms and regulations. It has high elevation of 14 meters, 41 pit garages and has a capacity of holding 100,000 people. With its high impact and overall infrastructure, BIC is regarded as among the best in the world. BIC is part of the Jaypee Green Sports city. The renowned F1 race will be held on this premise with the 10-year contract given to the Indian construction company Jaiprakash Associates.
