IRS to Open Offices in Panama, China and Australia
Executive Summary – The USA excited over what it did in Switzerland is now going after its citizens with enthusiasm in other countries. In this regards the IRS is opening offices in Australia, Beijing and Panama. We have no idea why they are opening offices in Australia which is a high tax police state in its own right. It will be interesting to see how much cooperation they get from Beijing. Of course Panama is rolling out the red carpet and even allowed the US Navy to open two bases in Panama. They also have the US Coast Guard interdicting ships in Panama waters and have the US military patrolling the Darrien Jungle in Panama. The IRS also plans to add on 800 more employees to chase their citizens overseas for taxes. This story was carried by Bloomberg:
