Online PR News – 30-October-2012 Nature’s Splendour® by Elizabeth Pings (
http://www.NaturesSplendour.com ), in association with The Artisan Group, will participate in the official
celebrity gift lounge in honor of The 46th Annual CMA Awards on October 29 – November 1, 2012 at the
Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Nature’s Splendour specializes in handcrafted gemstone jewelry and will have its Sterling Silver and
Black Spinel Chandelier Earrings gifted to the biggest names in country music backstage at The Awards.
This event will also be attended by over 25 media and press outlets.
Elizabeth Pings, owner/designer at Nature’s Splendour, is best known for her black spinel jewelry
designs which incorporate Freshwater Cultured Pearls , as well as South Sea, Akoya or Tahitian
Pearls. For The CMA Awards, Pings put a special focus on the Black Spinel.
“Black Spinel is a relatively rare opaque, jet black gemstone that has a sparkle and glamour unlike any other
stone,” noted Pings. “It is unusual, reflects light similar to a black diamond and creates a striking contrast with
sterling silver. I felt this would be the perfect choice for The Awards. The ladies will love wearing these
earrings and the men will love gifting them.”
From bar gemstone necklaces for Her to Woolly Mammoth Ivory pendants for Him, I
have jewelry designs for everyone.
Pings is a fan of country music from Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton to Miranda Lambert and was excited to
be selected to participate in The CMA Awards gift lounge. The Thornton, Colorado based designer typically
creates limited edition or one-of-a-kind handcrafted jewelry designs and recognized it would be a challenge
to duplicate by hand the same design for 85 pairs of earrings but she was not deterred.
“For the 85 pairs of chandelier earrings, I wrapped a mind-blowing 2,210 gemstones,” remarked Pings. “It was
a lot of work but there was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity to design a special piece of
jewelry for Country Music’s finest performers. My Black Spinel and Sterling Silver Chandelier Earrings are
elegant and out of the ordinary; I know the recipients will adore them.”
Pings is a Graduate Gemologist with a diploma from The Gemological Institute of America. This
professional credential allows her to identify both common and unusual gemstones and to determine
whether they are natural, synthetic or simulated.
“I’ve always enjoyed wearing gemstone jewelry,” said Pings. “While living in Bangkok as an expat, I saw the
most beautiful gemstones but found I could not tell if they were natural, synthetic or simulated. The desire to
know led me to get my Gemologist diploma from GIA’s Thailand campus. It’s an education that has stood me
in good stead, whether I’m shopping the big trade shows or assisting a client with a gemstone purchase.”
Ping meticulously handcrafts each piece of jewelry using traditional hand knotting and wire wrapping
techniques. The pieces reflect her desire to create affordable, heirloom quality jewelry that provides an
alternative to mass produced designs.
Pings’ design inspiration comes from the stones themselves, which means no two pieces are exactly alike
and can exhibit a range of styles from chunky to minimalist. “My jewelry is as eclectic as the gemstones I
work with and the people I design for,” noted Pings. “From bar gemstone necklaces for Her to Woolly
Mammoth Ivory pendants for Him, I have something for everyone.”
Pings recently contributed 10 different jewelry designs to the GBK’s 2012 Primetime Emmys Press Gift Bags
and also participated in GBK’s Luxury Gift Lounge for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. She has designed
jewelry for celebrities Paula Abdul and Kaley Cuoco. She recently presented a handcrafted Black Spinel
and Crystal Quartz bracelet to the stylist for the popular ABC Family television show, Pretty Little Liars and
is waiting to find out whether it will be worn during an upcoming episode.
