How to setup your iPhone 2.0 & iPhone 3G with Teachers College's Exchange server
First, please run software update.
You should have the latest iTunes installed on your computer to work with your iPhone.

On your iPhone : Open Settings
Open the Settings app from your iPhone homescreen.

Mail and Calendar Settings
Click on Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Add Account
Tap on Add Account

Choose Microsoft Exchange and fill in your email address, username and password. When you tap on the field to be filled out a keyboard will pop up.

Tap on fields
Fill in account details and tap 'next' and your iphone will try to automatically find your exchange server (from your email address) and set itself up.

If your email address is not enough ...
When you click on next, your email address may not be enough to find the server address. In that case the server will ask for the address of the server itself. It is tcmail1.tc.columbia.edu

Email is setup. On to Calendar and Contacts ...
Please be careful with these steps. Your iPhone can only have one source of Calendar and Contacts information and if you want to try out the contacts from Exchange and decide that you prefer your contacts from your local address book (i.e. through your local iTunes), you will find that the values have been wiped out. It does NOT merge the data! Click the home button then tap Settings and Mail, Contacts, and then tap on your new exchange account ...

Return to the Exchange Settings tab
Activate Contact and/or Contacts syncing from Exchange if you wish. Now you're done!
