   CALL TO ORDER
o   President Hannigan called the meeting to order at 4:03 PM.

   OPENING
o   SEB Senate Representative Daly read a prayer and the Spirit of the Saint.

   READING OF THE MINUTES
o   Senator Daly MOTIONS TO PASS MINUTES. Seconded. MOTION PASSES.

   OPEN FORUM: QUESTIONS / COMMENTS / SUGGESTIONS
o   TREASURER SCHROTER
      Asked why the bell that rings every fifteen minutes recently seemed to be off by about seven minutes.

        Stated this was a problem, because students were rushing to class because they thought they were late but really
         were not.
        John Dierna suggested he bring this problem up to facilities.

o PRESIDENT HANNIGAN
        Asked Phyllip Martin to give an update on the New York Times Readership Program
        Phyllip responded that the response varies on day and location, and there are about 20 newspapers leftover each
         day, which is pretty good.
                Also stated the newspapers will be available in Roger Bacon next week.

o MIKE PAPADOPOULOS
        Discussed how there were three cars broken into today, starting around 10:45 AM.
        Witnesses observed an African American male in an orange hoodie and brown leather jacket carrying a backpack
         by himself trying to punching out locks, as well as breaking through windshields and back windows.
        Was breaking into both new and old cars, but it cannot be seen if he got into a vehicle or not.
        Stole a few GPS’s, and anyone who leaves out electronic devices are sending signals to steal them, so be cautious
         and keep valuables out of sight.
        Additional Public Safety officers will be patrolling the lots, but please call if you see anything questionable or see
         anything being observed.
        Similar incidents have been happening at Hudson Valley Community College in larger numbers.

o   PRESIDENT HANNIGAN
      Received an e-mail last Tuesday from Laura Parry, asking if Pilates Principle should be added on to the Saint
       Card and asked for everyone’s opinions.
      Treasurer Schroter asked if we had to pay them, and President Hannigan stated that they would be paying us to
       use their services.
      President Hannigan conducted an informal vote, in which it was agreed upon it would be added.


   NEW BUSINESS
o   ELECTIONS TIMELINE
      Reported by head of Elections and Polling, Senator Daly.
              Friday, November 6th @ 12:30 in Leadership Lounge: informational meeting where petitions will be
                 handed out.
              Thursday, November 12th @ 11:59 PM: petitions due.
              Friday, November 13th @ 12:30 in Leadership Lounge: mandatory informational meeting.
              Monday, November 16th: speeches will be given by all candidates.
              Monday, November 16th-Thursday, November 19th @ 11:59 PM: voting will take place on Blackboard
                 and paper ballots.
      Press Secretary Stanton stated he would send out an e-mail with all necessary information.
      President Hannigan stated he would like SEB’s help, since it is their election, too, and can get more people to
       vote.
              Also stated he would let Senate know who will be heading the committee with Senator Daly, since there
                 have been many conflicts of interest.

o   SCRATCH OFFS TIMELINE
      Reported by President Hannigan.
             Stated that the scratch off tickets are in, the major electronics are on their way over from Radio Shack,
                and needs a volunteer to help him go shopping to get gift cards.
             Gave 250 tickets to Charity Week like last year, and will start selling the rest of the tickets next
                Wednesday and Friday during Free Period after a signup sheet has been passed around at the next
                meeting.

o   CONSTITUTION APPROVALS
       Reported by Parliamentarian Ellement on behalf of Vice President Archer.
       Stated every three years, a club must submit a renewal to their Constitution and update any errors, and then
         CCM takes a look to make sure it is in order.
       2 Clubs did not pass because CCM felt they could work better through existing clubs: Tom’s Shoes and Unity
         Around The World.

               Hesitant to create clubs when there are other outlets for their existence
          Senator Thomas MOTIONS TO PASS RENEWED GSA CONSTITUITON. Treasurer Schroter seconded.
           MOTION PASSES.

   REPORTS OF THE OFFICERS

o   PRESIDENT STEVEN HANNIGAN
       Happy Election Day, hopes everyone has filled out their absentee ballot.
       Stated how the year is winding down, and E-board is working to have a smoother transition of newly and
         returning Senators and E-board.
       Please look for Charity Week e-mails.

o   EXECUTIVE ASSISANT HILDY MARINELLO
       No formal report.

o   COMPTROLLER KATHLEEN DIGAN
       Absent: Board of Instruction meeting.
       Remember to go out and vote if you live in the area, polls are open until 9 PM.

o   PRESS SECRETARY FRANCIS STANTION
      No formal report.

o   PARLIAMENTARIAN MIKE ELLEMENT
       No formal report.

o   COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR DANNY SUPPLE
      Please return bios ASAP, as he will be meeting with Heather Addison next week.

   MEMBER REPORTS

o   VICE PRESIDENT OF STUDENT AFFAIRS DR. MARYELLEN GILROY
        Absent.
o   DIRECTOR OF CAMPUS PROGRAMS AND ADVISOR JOHN DIERNA
        Tomorrow will be the second installment of the monthly commuter lunches, including a talk with Camille
         Girardi, and everyone is welcome to attend.

o   STUDENT EVENTS BOARD REPRESENTATIVE THERESE DALY
        SEB Bonding Question was favorite season
        This week is Charity Week: today is Charity Denim going on until 5 PM, tomorrow is the auction at 9:00 PM,
         Thursday is Hannah Bingo, and Friday is Purple Hair Extensions.
        Fine Arts are planning a pre basketball game party, details coming soon.
        Siblings Weekend- decided on theme and slogan.
        Sienafest theme: slogan has been decided and meeting with facilities was successful.

o   SCRB REPRESENTATIVE JOE MASTROGIOVANNI

o   CLASS OF 2010 PRESIDENT BRYAN DALY
      21 Club last Friday went very well.

o   CLASS OF 2011 REPRESENTATIVE MEG DUFOUR
     There will be a meeting of the four elected officers this Friday during free period.

o   CLASS OF 2012 PRESIDENT BENJAMIN THOMAS
        Mocktail event will be next Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 PM, with drinks such as Strawberry Daiquiris and
          Pina Coladas.
        Will be selling bracelets that say, “Siena Pictures Peace”.

o   TOWNHOUSE MAYOR ALEX EVANCIEW
       Absent.
       No formal report.

o   PADUA HALL PRESIDENT JOSEPH SCANNELL
       Absent.

o   HENNEPIN HALL PRESIDENT CAITLYN SANCHEZ
       No formal report.

o   PLASSMANN HALL PRESIDENT ANDREW FORD
        Will be hosting a 50th Birthday Party for Plassmann on Thursday, December 3rd.
            Dinner will be provided for residents, and cake will be provided for all other students.
        Will be selling Plassmann T-shirts next week.
        Has representatives from each floor except the 5th floor, please let him know if you have anyone in mind.

o   HINES HALL PRESIDENT ALEX MAZZA
        There will be a dinner this Thursday for the 2nd floor East wing who won the Halloween decorating contest.

o   RYAN HALL PRESIDENT PAIGE MACCABEE
       Hall decorating contest went well.
       Will have a meeting this Thursday to discuss future plans.

o   COMMUTER PRESIDENT VANDAN PATEL
       Absent.
       Commuter lunch will take place tomorrow during free period.

   REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES

o   COMMITTEE ON SIENA’S COMMUNITY
       No formal report

o   COMMITTEE ON SIENA’S ACADEMICS
       Reported by Communications Director Supple.
       Read aloud the draft resolution of taking finals out of the ARC.
            Treasurer Schroter recommended that he add the concern of teams practicing in the ARC when finals
               are going on.
            Parliamentarian Ellement suggested it be stated that there are big enough rooms on this campus, such
               as the Key Auditorium and Maloney Great Room, for multiple sections to have finals at the same time
               in the same room
       Sandy Serbalik suggested the committee speak with Jim Serbalik, because he understands that the testing
        environment is not optimal, and if a decision is made to take finals out of the ARC, he could possibly post final
        schedules at the beginning of the semester.
            Press Secretary Stanton asked if students would know at registration when their finals were.
            Sandy responded that most sections are not finalized when students are registering, and therefore
               students will not know the finals schedule when they register.

o   COMMITTEE ON SIENA’S STUDENT SERVICES
       Reported by Treasurer Schroter.
       Stated that they discussing how to run elections better.
            Is talking to other schools, and will have something written up for Senate to read regarding this issue.

o   COMMITTEE ON NEW STUDENT AND TRANSFER ORIENTATION
       Reported by President Hannigan.
       Stated that the committee will have something for John Dierna on or around Thanksgiving-it is a matter of
        getting everyone together.

   FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
o   FREE PERIOD
      Treasurer Schroter asked where the discussion on Free Period stood, since he heard unofficially from three
       sources that the idea of getting rid of free period would be squashed.
              The faculty and friars that he spoke with were very against it, and heard that the Cabinet was not even
                 looking at the idea anymore.
      Sandy Serbalik stated Senate give a general, yet formal statement, to the Cabinet
              President Hannigan stated that he submitted a cover letter, all petitions, Senate’s resolution, House of
                 Club’s resolution, and SEB’s Resolution to Fr. Ken Pauli, and said he would send the summary to her.
              Mel Beach suggested keeping documentation of this, since it is reviewed every two years.

   ADJOURMENT
o   Treasurer Schroter MOVES TO ADJOURN. Seconded, MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.
