25th October 2012
This week, we have had prospective teachers visiting to see how
our KS2 class operates before they decide whether or not to apply
for the job share with Mrs Brown. They have all been very im-
pressed with the level of independence and engagement our chil-
dren have in class. The deadline for the post is after half-term and
we hope to have appointed someone to start in January.
Class 1 have been busy this week being culinary entrepreneurs! They made a visit
to our local Co-op to buy ingredients for their own pizza creations. Being a very
kind class, they made one specially for me too with chicken, sweetcorn, green pep-
pers and red onions...it was delicious! They then wrote about their experiences as
part of our assessment focus week.
Class 2 have been in the atelier, creating their own Viking shields after researching
designs for homework. Thank you to all parents who brought in cardboard boxes
for the project. They have also been completing assessments, one of which was a
recount of their fabulous trip to Jorvik last week.
The PTA’s Halloween disco was very successful and the children had a wonderful
evening. It was lovely to see some children from Brookhouse school there too,
although it was a shame that more did not take up the invitation.
Of course it’s half-term and I can’t believe it’s here already! I am off to Hong Kong
to see my brother and his family and am very excited about visiting some beautiful
monasteries and seeing the sights. I wish you all a safe week off school and hope
you enjoy the festivities on the 31st and on Guy Fawkes’ Night before we come
back on Tuesday the 6th November.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND! Ms Cad :)
