   Core Electives: 1.5 (English, Math, Science, Social Studies)
   Selective Electives: 2.0 (Fine Arts, World Lang, CTE)
   Open Electives: 1.5
                  Block Schedule
   Each block is 9 weeks long
   Each block is worth ½ credit
   Each block meets for 90 minutes
   3rd block is divided into 4 sections for lunch
       3 A, B, C, D equaling 120 minutes
       Lunch time is determined by the student’s
        scheduled class.

           (SEL)
The developmental process for acquiring the
skills needed to effectively and ethically handle
ourselves, our relationships and our work.
Through SEL, children and adults learn to
manage emotions, establish positive
relationships, develop caring and concern for
others, make responsible decisions and
constructively handle challenging situations.
            SEL Core Competencies
   Self Awareness – Recognize one emotions and values as well
    as one’s strengths and limitations
   Self Management – Manage one’s emotions and behaviors
   Social Awareness – Show understanding and empathy
    for others
   Relationship Skills – Form positive relationships, work in
    teams, deal effectively with conflict
   Responsible Decision-making – Make ethical and
    constructive choices about personal and social behaviors
          Why teach SEL skills?
   Students with SEL skills are more interested in
    learning, more attached to school, and have
    better attendance rates.
   Teachers can manage classrooms better and
    increase instruction time with less behavior
    disruptions.
   SEL skills are recognized by the Department
    of Labor and employers as necessary for
    workplace effectiveness.
