Game Artificial Intelligence
BSc(Hons) / BEng(Hons) Game Artificial Intelligence
Length: 4 years (including a one year placement - 3 years without)
UCAS Code: G703 / G704
Institution Code: S72
Campus: Stafford
This award aims to give students an extensive knowledge of artificial intelligence and its applications in the
games industry. It will provide a solid theoretical framework for addressing complex problems in navigation,
planning, strategy, pattern recognition and knowledge management. You will be able to identify and specify the
key features of complex problems and apply appropriate methods from artificial intelligence in a range of
applications both within the field of computer games development, and beyond. You will be able to propose
and describe solutions for the management and control of AI systems in dynamic environments.
On completion of the course you will be able to compete for jobs in areas such as computer games design and
development, developing advanced simulations in various fields including: entertainment, virtual reality,
engineering/process control. There will also be opportunities for employment in the fields of finance and
computer-based training. Opportunities will also exist in software engineering and general computing.
Graduates who successfully complete a sandwich degree with a good placement will also be awarded the
Graduate Professional Development Award from e-skills which is the sector skills council in IT award that
recognises an individual’s ability to work in industry.
