DRAFT PAC Minutes
Monday, May 12, 2000, ABC School Library
PRESENT: Diane, Sue, Mark, Joe, Lyn, Bob, Joanne, Cindy and Cora.
1. Meeting called to order at 9:50 am.
2. Agenda approved with the amendment of 7.c: “Welcome Back Reception Planning”
3. MOTION: TO APPROVE THE PAC MINUTES FOR MONDAY, APRIL 7/08

4. Business arising from minutes
BCCPAC voting proxy (LYN): we gave our voting proxy to Nancy for the
BCCPAC conference. Nancy will give us a report on what was decided at the

Calendar of Activities: Teachers are visiting from Williams Lake re: arts
program; the grade 9 immunizations will take place this month; Recognition
assembly is May 30 at 8:45am; McQueen Lake day visits for Ms. Kerry and Ms.
Tyler’s classes planned; Teen dance May 13, 6:30 to 9:30;
Diane presented a draft document, “School Beliefs” which will be part of the
Restitution plan being developed at ABC.
MOTION: TO ADOPT THE DRAFT DOCUMENT “SCHOOL
BELIEFS” AS PART OF THE SCHOOL-WIDE RESTITUTION PLAN.

Diane asked for feedback on a bumper sticker program that would identify “Proud
Parents of ABC School Honour Students”. Discussion centered on making
bumper stickers available for all parents. Diane invited PAC to develop and fund
a separate program through PAC.

b. President's report (Sue)
Sue will be working with the incoming executive to plan committee structure for
next year. As Past President, Sue would like to continue the PAC visioning and
mission statement process into next year.
The year-end BBQ is scheduled for Thursday, June 12.
c. Treasurer's report (Mark)
Playground fundraising total to date: $8,922
Regular account balance: $1,968
Bingo account balance: $2,193
6. Committee Reports and Program Updates
a. Playground Fundraising Committee (Bruce)
Activities: a table will be at Farmers’ Market this weekend, and on May 24 an
event is planned at Art Knapp’s.
The playground equipment will be installed the weekend of June 7-8 and all is

will be ready to be unveiled at the BBQ.
7. New Business
a. Banners for school gym
Lyn presented a variety of designs for banners to be placed above the stage.
The preferred design was determined by vote (see attached). The banner will cost
$150, and will be installed in September.
b. Vancouver Tour
Cindy reported on the details of a trip to Vancouver that will be taken by
members of the ABC School Band at the end of May. 50 Students are
confirmed and many parents have volunteered.
c. Welcome Back Reception Planning
Next PAC meeting: Monday, June 16, 8:45am at ABC School Library.
