         An innovative competition developed to raise awareness of the
           commercialisation of bioscience ideas among postgraduate
students/postdoctoral scientists. There will be presentations from leading figures
   in the biotechnology industry on all aspects of technology transfer and the
       commercialisation of bioscience ideas. Topics covered include: The
 Requirements of a Business Plan, Intellectual Property and Patenting Strategy,
     Raising and Managing Finance, Commercial and Marketing Strategies

  Population Health researchers tackle many key public health and health care
   related issues facing high and low income countries, such as obesity, AIDS,
  mental illness, child health, cancer detection and treatment. These issues are
         complex in nature and require a multi-disciplinary approach using
              epidemiological, statistical and social science methods.
 The objective of this annual event is to showcase the research strengths of the
 theme and its members. Building on the success of previous symposia, we are
