Director, New Jersey Division of Taxation
Ms. Adams is a 27 year career State employee with experience in several different agencies. She
began her career as a Deputy Attorney General defending State and local tax matters. She has
served as legal counsel to the State’s public procurement and construction agencies. Maureen
has represented the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations in grievance and disciplinary
arbitrations and defended against claims of unfair labor practices. She has acted as legal
counsel to higher education agencies, including State colleges.
Ms. Adams left the Attorney General’s Office to accept a position as Director of the state’s
building and construction agency. She later served in senior management positions in the New
Jersey Juvenile Justice Commission, the State’s juvenile corrections agency. Maureen also held
the title of Deputy State Treasurer. She has been an employee of the Division of Taxation for six
and a half years.
Ms. Adams is a member of the Governor’s Sales and Use Tax Review Commission, and is the
State Treasurer’s designee to the Catastrophic Illness in Children Relief Fund Commission and
the Traumatic Brain Injury Council.
Ms. Adams Received a law degree from Temple University.
Sales Tax Attorney
Ms. Feeney is a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on
the Tax Court and the State and Local Tax Committee of the ABA Tax
Section. She also has been appointed to the Sales and Use Tax Review
Commission of the State of New Jersey since 2000. She lectures frequently
on the subject of state taxes and local property taxes to civic and professional
groups and is an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the
Tax Masters Program. She is the attorney for the N.J. Association of County
Tax Board Commissioners and Administrators, and is Past President and
Secretary of Legal Services Foundation of Essex County. She is Second
Vice President of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
President – Kevin W. Treaux & Associates
Mr. Kevin W. Treaux is a Certified Financial Planner and a Registered Investment Advisor with
broad business experience with Fortune 500 Manufacturing and Sales Corporations. He has a
track record of proven abilities in business planning, operating controls, capital investment and
Kevin spent 13 years working for a number of US Corporations until 1973 when he set up his own
Business and Financial Planning practice. Kevin’s special skills include business analysis,
problem solving, micro computer business applications and financial planning and analysis
including Estate Settlements.
Kevin is a member of various professional associations and loves to share his knowledge and
experience with peers by frequently speaking at various gatherings.
Kathryn Keane, EA
President of the NY Chapter of NATP
Kathryn M. Keane, EA, currently serves as President of the NY Chapter of NATP as well as the
Queens Chapter of New York Society of Independent Accountants. Kathryn owns and operates
Macanta Business Services, a full year full services tax and related services practice serving over
800 1040 clients and 50 businesses. In 2006, Kathryn , completed two three-year terms on the
National Board of NATP. She speaks to many NATP Chapters including Kentucky, Ohio,
Connecticut, Massachusetts, Texas and Hawaii. She has addressed the National Conference of
CPA Practitioners, Pratt Institute, NYSSEA and the Kings and Queens Chapters of the

Jim Gordon possesses extensive tax and group presentation experience. Jim joined the NJ
Division of Taxation 9 years ago and is the immediate past supervisor of the Division’s
General Correspondence section, which is responsible for answering a wide range of income,
sales and Corporate tax questions. Prior to joining the Division, Mr. Gordon supervised several
tax preparation offices. He also conducted full, 10-week basic, advanced and specialized tax
preparation courses. Jim ran his own sole-proprietorship, offering bookkeeping services to
small businesses. He specialized in construction trade businesses and project accounting.
Taxpayer Service Representative
NJ Division of Taxation
Jacob started with the Division’s fast –paced Customer Service Call Center in February
1999 and has worked with the Problem Resolution Unit and the Taxpayer Service
Lobby, a walk-in center assisting individuals and businesses with detailed tax inquiries.
Jacob has a thorough understanding of the New Jersey Sales Tax , Employer
Responsibilities and Corporate Business Tax and Coordinates the training of TCE/VITA
Income Tax volunteer preparers. Jacob’s experience has placed him in the Division’s
Outreach Unit, providing technical education to small Businesses and Tax Professionals
on a variety of NJ tax topics.
