Pageants More Than Just Beauty
Beauty pageants should be allowed because they can build confidence in children.
Christine Sherman, an eight year old, said that the Children’s pageant world “Brings a lot of kids
out of their shells.” Besides beauty pageants do give confidence to kids. Pageants can boost
children’s self-esteem, teaches poise, public speaking skills, tact, and confidence. With this in
mind beauty pageants aren’t just for the beauty but also for the brains. Did you know that most
contestants have to know certain information to compete in pageants, it’s not just for their
mascara and spray tans? Beauty pageants should be allowed because they build self confidence
and they can improve your child’s etiquette, poise, and manners.
Beauty pageants are a lot of work, but pageants are also really fun. At most pageants
there is food that kids love like pizza, nachos, pretzels, and candy! In some of the higher class
pageants there are back stage activities and even costume people to interact with the children.
For example kids can have fun at pageants, but they have fun while their looking beautiful. while
V.J. La Cour, publisher of pageant life magazine, said: “Its glitz, glitter, a little bit of Hollywood.
That’s what kids want.” Additionally beauty pageants are indeed what some kids want. Beauty
pageants are fun because they are what some kids like; it makes them feel happy, important, and
beautiful.
Beauty pageants can be helpful by providing money and other useful prizes. Pageants
such as scholarship pageants hand out scholarships to the participants. Therefore scholarship
pageants can be an option instead of regular pageants because they give out educational prizes.
You can also win money, trophies, crowns, sashes, puppies, ECT… All in all you can get good ;
even useful things out of pageants. Beauty pageants can be helpful by giving out money,
scholarships, and other things. Who wouldn’t want their child to have what they want?
