Midwest Energy Cooperative (MEC) is a member owned power distribution company. It serves to more than 35,000 members
including residential, agricultural, commercial and industrial customers in southwestern and southeastern Michigan, northern
Indiana and Ohio. This covers 12 counties including the portions of Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, Kalamazoo and Van Buren
Counties, as well as St. Joseph, Elkhart and LaGrange Counties in northern Indiana. The co-operative purchases power from
Wabash Valley Power Association, a wholesale power supplier. MEC is headquartered in Michigan, the US.
In 2012, the co-operative plans to clear 115 miles of line in the various townships of Michigan.
