First, let me wish everyone a Happy New Year! I hope you were able to enjoy some pampering time,
some time off to relax, do nothing, be with family and friends, think about what you cherish and about
how in the new year you will “Love without limit, play without restraint, live without dead time.”
Second, I hope all of you are planning to attend our January Speaker Program Meeting (see below), and I
also want to invite members to help me welcome Bruce Herzog to Tampa by joining Bruce at dinner on

Don’t forget that the American Psychoanalytic Association’s Winter Meeting is this month at the
Waldorf Astoria in NYC. All are invited to attend (i.e. you do not have to be a member of the APsA).

Sister Organization Prepares to Close its Doors
It is my sad duty to report that the Florida Organization for Relational Studies, Inc (FORS), an affiliate of
the American Psychological Association, plans to close its doors. In the recent past, FORS has partnered
with TBPS to co-sponsor Speaker Program Meetings, including Lewis Aron and Philip Ringstrom. It has
also brought to central Florida renowned relational speakers such as Estelle Shane and Irwin Hirsch. We
will miss the collegial affiliation and are so glad its officers like Bill Player and Tom Haselwood remain
members of the Society.
Speaker Program Meeting Suggestions
We welcome from all members suggestions for future, analytical speakers . Please contact me you’re
your ideas. Would members be interested in having the CAPA (see below) founder Elise Snyder come as
a guest speaker to present at a Speaker Program Meeting and discuss cross cultural analysis? Please let
China American Psychoanalytic Alliance (CAPA)
CAPA would like to invite you to participate in an exciting project. All you need is a computer, a
video camera and a spirit of adventure. CAPA, the China American Psychoanalytic Alliance, is
recruiting psychoanalysts and psychodynamic psychotherapists to do treatment with Chinese
mental health professionals, via Skype, a free, secure, and easy to download and use computer
to computer software program. Working with these patients (all speak excellent English, of
course!) is immensely gratifying. Please look at the CAPA website:
