Wintry Greetings Everyone!
A new study from the University of Calgary has concluded that about 95% of us
procrastinate at times, while 15% to 20% are chronic offenders. I believe that if we are
doing what we love most of the time, then we won't want to put things off. And if we make
a commitment to do the necessary things we don't like first and get them out of the way,
then we won't delay anything! Well, I like the theory anyway, and have decided to give it a
go in February. As successful businesswomen and entrepreneurs, we know that
it's necessary to do it all! OK, I'm trying to make a bridge here between procrastination and
NAWBO volunteerism :-)
Our board has dedicated this year to increasing membership value. When we sent out the
member survey last fall asking our awesome women what they wanted to see happen in the
future, they indicated many items and were especially interested in educational events and
networking outside the monthly luncheons. The Board is bringing these venues to you...and
we need your help! Sponsoring the Entrepreneurial Excellence Award (EEA) banquet in May
takes incredible energy and time. We could also use assistance planning educational
events. And, we want you experts to share your knowledge through Master Mind classes. In
general, committees make all of our volunteer efforts more effective and exciting for
everyone!
I do realize that we all have a life and many of us volunteer for other things. IF you can
pack in one more thing, please check your agendas and call about assisting Shelley Williams
204-6474 and Pam Bayles 282-5636 with the EEA banquet. For anything to do with
education, contact Cathy Miller at 204-0789. This is a great time of the year to practice
non-procrastination, and the NAWBO organization will certainly be a willing recipient of your
newly re-energized habit! Thank you again for being part of NAWBO in any way, and filling
me with gratitude when I see your smiling faces each month!
Until we meet again, safe journeys,
Sharon Hooper
