Medicaid provider offering Day Habilitation and

and motor skills. Activities include pre-
vocational training, opportunities for recreation
& leisure, functional academics and volunteer

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Camp Breathe Easy is a seven-day, six-night
overnight camp for children, ages 7-13, with
asthma. Camp Breathe Easy is for children
with asthma who need medication and are
limited in summer camping opportunities. The
children learn asthma self-management
techniques and coping strategies to better
handle their illness. Children receive a
traditional summer camp experience under the
watchful eye of medical professionals who
volunteer their time to the program.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Camp Glisson offers a caring and safe
Christian environment. A special program is
held in the summer months called
“Sparrowwood”. The Sparrowwood program
hosts mentally challenged youth and adults at
eight week sessions. Campers with mild or
moderate mental challenge, who are physically
mobile, are cared for by compassionate, well
trained college students. Emphasis is placed
upon outdoor music daily, outdoor recreation,
crafts, and skilled supervision.
Camp Glisson is owned and operated by the
United Methodist Churches of the North

boating, riding, tennis, arts and crafts, and

needs at some level. Assistance with self-care
can be provided. Activities include rope score,
horseback riding, boating, and karaoke.

PRIMARY FOCUS: Camp atmosphere with focus on fun

PRIMARY FOCUS: To enhance the campers physically, mentally,

strives to enhance qualities such as personal

self-reliance in a fun-filled setting.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Camp activities include arts/crafts, horseback
riding, canoeing, performing arts, camping,
nature programs, swimming, outdoor game,
and off-campus field trips. All buildings are air-
conditioned. Same sex communal bathrooms
with full time staff supervision. Medical
personnel are on duty 24 hours. The camp
staff includes personnel with experience
working with the visually impaired.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: A two-week Day Camp, “Theatre Arts in the
Park”. No auditions are required. Classes in
acting, voice, movement, and stagecraft are
instructed by a professional theatre staff under
an artistic director. The first week of camp is
held in a restored classroom building in Cave
Spring where an end of the week concert is
performed in the town Cave. The second
week and final performance is in Cedartown
Civics Auditorium. Students may also
participate in creating plots, writing scripts, and
preparing props and costumes.
