Is the American dream a catch all cliché or the quintessential American experience?

Bearing in mind the ideals expressed by various American leaders (e.g. in the Declaration of Independence)
and your own knowledge of the country, try to define "the American Dream".

                                       Definitions of the American, dream:
An American social ideal that stresses egalitarianism and especially material
                                 prosperity. (Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary)

                  – [The] idea that the US is a place where everyone has the chance of becoming
rich and successful. Many immigrants to the US in the early 20th century
believed in the American Dream. (Longman’s Dictionary of English Language
                                                    and Culture)

According to Jim Cullen, in his brilliant The American Dream: A Short History of an Idea That Shaped a Nation,
published in 2003, 6 items could define The American dream. Your task will consist in finding them through a
patchwork of documents from the declaration of Independence to a song from rapper Eminem or soundtrack of
dramas that all in their way participate to build this concept.

Relying on these items, try to complete the table below, and then complete the title of each item
