                                           KNIGHTS NEWS
The Knights of Columbus Council would like to thank Kitsy Winter of the Comi Funeral Home for the
donation that was made to our council, in memory of her dad, Steve Comi. We appreciate it very much. We
also express our congratulations to Joe Micheli for being selected the Knight of the Quarter in recognition of
his service to the Knights of Columbus. He received an award plaque after the 5:00 pm Mass on April 2nd.
Thank you Joe for all that you do as a Knight.

A moment of your time could mean a lifetime to others. It only takes a moment to sign the back of your
driver’s license and tell your family about your decision. That moment could mean a lifetime to someone
who desperately needs organ transplant. This is a critical need for donors. Only one third of the potential
Colorado donors give.

                                     DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
In preparation for Divine Mercy Sunday there will be a novena beginning on Good Friday at 3 pm in our
church. This novena of nine special intentions will continue daily at 3 pm and conclude on Saturday, April
30th. To learn more about Divine Mercy Sunday look for the insert in next week’s bulletin.

                             ATTENTION EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
We now have available in church both liquid hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes. These are in the hallway that
leads into the sacristy. If you are assisting with the distribution of the Eucharist, you are welcome to go into the
area and make use of them before taking your position at the altar.
From the Desk of Sister Didyaknow
Today is Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion
Donkeys have served humanity for six thousand years as pack animals and for farm work. We
think of them as stubborn and unintelligent. In ancient Israel only wealthy people rode on
donkeys. Everybody else walked. As a descendant of King David, Jesus rode a donkey into
Jerusalem. The crowd hoped He would start a violent revolt against the Romans. Yet for us,
Jesus’ riding a donkey is a reminder that He lived simply, avoided status and was truly humble.
Jesus is the one who took “the form of a slave” and “humbled himself…to the point of death,”
and was also the One whom “God greatly exalted.” As we follow Jesus to Calvary and beyond,
we too suffer, yet we are the children of a heavenly king who has ransomed us from death and
sin. Walk with Jesus in prayer, until you stand by the cross and say like the centurion, “Truly,
this was the Son of God!”
                                         Holy Thursday
Holy Thursday begins the Triduum, which from the 4th century celebrated the Paschal Mystery.
Remembering the institution of the Holy Eucharist is the heart of Holy Thursday observance.
The Holy Thursday ritual includes the ceremonial washing of feet. This ritual imitates Jesus’
Last Supper action of humility and service. At the end of the Holy Thursday liturgy, the Holy
Eucharist is carried in procession with incense and song to a place of repose. It will be received
the next day in communion. After placing the consecrated bread in the tabernacle, an atmosphere
of quiet waiting with the Lord begins.
                                         Good Friday
Good Friday is the anniversary of the death of Jesus on the cross outside the walls of Jerusalem.
On this one day of the year the Eucharist is not celebrated in its usual form of the Mass. The
absence of Mass respects the historical sacrificial action of Jesus on the cross.
                                     Liturgical Ministers
The Liturgical Ministers schedules for the season of Easter to Pentecost are available for pick up
