THINGS ABOUT AN ECOMMERCE WEBSITE WHICH ANNOYS THE USERS AND LEADS
TO A POOR CONVERSION

Hi friends! I am Keisha, being a regular blogger at 337design Inc., a leading web designing
company based in Los Angeles, California . I am presenting an article on the various loopholes
that should be considered while designing an effective eCommerce website.

The immense popularity of an online shopping and eCommerce business has boosted
eCommerce web development in the past couple of years. Currently , the web is flooded with a
number of eCommerce websites. Each business organization has its own eCommerce website
and many more are getting into the eCommerce web development. In order to stand out from
others, several web developers often include features which really annoys the users or
customers , which in turn results in poor sales figures and conversion rates.

I have listed out some annoying aspects within an eCommerce website which badly affects
online business.

 Many eCommerce websites often compel the users to register or login, for buying a
product or just viewing the product details. No one likes to register or sign up for getting
details or making forceful purchase. Hence , the website developers as well as site
owners should avoid this on their website.
 Not enabling the users to search within the website, will drive them to exit the website
with a bad experience. If users come to your website, they might not be aware about
your products and may want to search for their desired product within your website.
 Not providing a facility to filter the search results will annoy the users. Thus providing
them some kind of a filtering option in their search results as well as product categories,
will ease their find on the desired product.
 Many site owners often fail to provide their contact details or may not be able to deliver
goods on time as promised to the users. Providing appropriate contact details on the
website and ensuring that you deliver the goods on a timely basis will retain users.
 Poor graphic design and user interface, spelling and grammatical mistakes, poor
product information and description, often lead to loosing out on customers.
Summary
Internet commerce business has flooded the web with a great deal of eCommerce sites. Every
business with its own eCommerce website wants to be noticed . Due to this, web developers
often make mistakes with the eCommerce sites. This leads to users getting annoyed, irritated
and frustrated while surfing on an eCommerce site and making transactions. Provision of a
mandatory registering or login procedure annoys users as they feel that is is a waste of time to
fill up the forms before actually opening the site, looking for products and making a purchase.

Absence of a proper search option within the website makes it very difficult for the users to
search for a particular product if they are not aware of the category to look for. Filtering is a
very important function of an eCommerce website ,which, if found missing can display a list of
all relevant and irrelevant products which makes it difficult for users to choose the required
products. Many sites do not provide contact details , thus, making it difficult for users to
contact the site owners. Moreover many a times goods are not delivered in the committed time
frame. In addition, poor content, positioning, UI designing, wrong information ,etc.,
downgrades an eCommerce website.
