1. WHAT IS FALSE TEACHING?

   “divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine
       which ye have learned”

   “another gospel...any other gospel”

   “depart from the faith...doctrines of devils...lies in
       hypocrisy”

   “teach otherwise...consent no to wholesome
       words...”

   “turn away...from the truth...unto fables”

   “damnable heresies...”

   “denieth the Son...”

   “transgresseth…abideth not in the doctrine of
       Christ”
2. WHAT WARNINGS DOES THE NEW
      TESTAMENT CONTAIN?

   “Beware of false prophets...”

   “...some shall depart from the faith”

   “...there shall be false teachers among you...”




3. WHAT MOTIVATES FALSE TEACHERS?

   “to draw away disciples after them...”

   “corrupt minds...destitute of the truth...”

   “for filthy lucre’s sake...”

   “through covetousness...make merchandise of you...”

TEACHERS?

   “of your own selves” = leadership in the church!

   “many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers...”

   “...many shall follow their pernicious ways...”

ACTIONS TOWARD FALSE TEACHERS AND
FALSE TEACHING?

   “Ye shall KNOW them by their fruits...”

   “Mark them...avoid them”

   “mouths must be stopped...rebuke them sharply...”

   “try the spirits whether they be of God”

   “receive him not into your house, neither bid him
       God speed”

   “...doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate”
                            PSALM 119:104

       “Through thy precepts I get understanding:

               therefore I hate every false way.”
