AP Chemistry Exam REVIEW STUDY SCHEDULE*: Congratulations, you are almost there. I know you
are sick of AP Chem. and I don't blame you, but finish strong and you WILL SCORE WELL on the
national exam, you will impress that college admissions officer you care too much about, you will earn
college credit, you will get to avoid having to take as much Chemistry in your future, you will improve your
class grade for both semesters, and you will impress that special someone in your life. Its only one
month…so just do it.*

A. I know its spring break, but I'll give you a week off from doing AP Chemistry in May. The fine print: *Yes, this
portion of the review is optional, but it will affect your score on the national exam and therefore indirectly affect your glass grade. Come on…just do it. All of the
cool kids are doing it. All of the other kids applying for that college that you want to get into are doing it and they're going to get fives, so you'd better do it too.

Read Study and Know Princeton Review Chapters 1-2
May 5th- Take a Practice Test. Take it three hours straight through. If there is sufficient interest I'll offer a
mock exam here at school, or you can take one of the Princeton ones at home.
May 6th- Free Choice…Do some more equations, take another practice test, redo chapters you are
concerned about, or just relax. Go to bed early. BE CONFIDENT…IF YOU'VE WORKED
HARD ALL YEAR (OR AT LEAST THE LAST MONTH) THE TEST IS JUST AN
OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW OFF. IF YOU'VE BEEN KEEPING UP ALL YEAR YOU
WILL DO WELL. As you fall asleep visualize yourself getting problems correct, and getting
that letter or email in July telling you that you passed.
May 7th- Get up a little early…you don't want to feel rushed.
--Shower and dress nicely, but comfortably…research shows that students who think
they look nice score much better… its true.
--Eat something…not a huge breakfast but something to keep you going for three to four
                        hours.
--Pack a snack, and a watch. They won't tell you about time and you can't use a cell
phone or other electronic device…bring an old school wrist watch.
--Pace yourself. NEVER MAKE A QUESTION A QUEST. Its all about points per
minute…not points. Make sure you get to everything. Don't leave anything
blank especially not a multiple choice. THERE IS NO GUESSING PENALTY.
Never assume that you can't do part D or E or F because you couldn't do B or
                        C. Sometimes the last parts are the easiest parts.
--When you don't know what to do…do something. Sometimes just working will get
your brain to recall something it heard when you were sleeping in class one
day…and maybe you'll just stumble across the answer (you're my little blind
                        squirrels).
--Look at units…often times they will show you the way.
                --Kick the test's bum.
--Come by after the test and tell me how much easier it was than you expected, and how
well prepared you felt, and how you now forgive me for all of the last ten
                        months.
--Good Luck. I believe in you. You should be proud of how far you've come in ten
                        months.
